This 1972 Mercedes Benz 280SE 4.5 is a very original car that is part of an estate sale with proceeds to benefit a local animal shelter. Recently pulled from storage, this car runs and drives well, but will require quite a bit of TLC to bring it back to it's former glory. Only 43K miles are showing, but the true mileage is unknown as the odometer is not working. The paint is faded and checking everywhere, I'd like to tell you that with some polish it would clear right up... but not this time. It's amazingly rust free, but only a full respray with some minor dent removal will make the body look better. The front bumper is also bent, the trim is loose in areas, and the grill has a good ding in it as well. Inside, the upholstery is all in good condition, but could use a thorough cleaning. The wood trim seems a bit dry, but is definately salvageable unlike the heater control knobs which are beginning to disintegrate from age. All controls including the Becker Europa Stereo work well, but the driver's power window needs help going up, and the AC will need to be recharged. The driver's seat belt is also shredding and will need to be replaced. Mechanically it runs and drives nicely with plenty of power, but the steering feels a bit heavy and pulls slightly left. There is also an exhaust leak which vents through the left front wheel well. A really solid car for restoring, or with a bit of TLC could be driven as is. Comes with all original books and manuals.
