Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE 1950 Chevrolet 3100 short bed pickup. This truck is a lifetime Arizona vehicle. Perfect for a full on restoration. The last time the truck was started was in 1985. I have turned the engine over to make sure it is not frozen and it turns with compression. I have made no attempt to start it due to the original wiring (which has insulation coming off the wires.) This is the most complete unvarnished description of the vehicle that I can give. I could have purchased a few cans of rattle paint to dress it up for resale but I think the buyer should be able to see what he/she is purchasing. This is likely the straightest most rust free truck you will ever have a chance to get your hands on without one being restored or ever even an attempt at being restored. It is a restorers dream vehicle. The drivers rear fender has some very, very small areas low where rust has worked its way all the way through the metal as does the floor pan in one area. If you combined the spots all together they would not make up the size of a nickel. Any other rust you see is strictly surface rust. No rust in cab corners or any other common areas except as I described above. Before multiple questions are asked I want everyone to know this truck is stock. Original brakes, frame, engine, transmission, fuel tank, etc. You name it, that is the way it came. With the exception of an aftermarket ignition switch and radio. This truck came with the clock in the glove box also. Parts such as the window cranks, chrome interior trim and other trim pieces come with the pickup. I have taken multiple photos to show the best representation of the pickup. Notice it had the spare mounted on the side and the lip of the running boards on both sides are cut (I have no idea why). This has the 216 motor in it, and has been converted to 12 volt but the generator comes with it also. Truck is advertised locally and can be sold for the right price. Gonna be a while before one like this comes along again. Why am I selling it? I don’t need the money, I looked long and hard to find this one. I purchased this truck to restore myself and decided to go with a 5 window instead. Not wanted to chop up a dream vehicle for anyone wanting to do an original restoration I purchased a 5 window for the project I am tacklingOn Dec-22-12 at 15:20:37 PST, seller added the following information: I have been told by several watchers that this truck has the 235 engine. I will do further checking when I can look at the motor numbers. After checking I will post which one it is. Thank you for your comments. On Dec-25-12 at 17:44:15 PST, seller added the following information: Engine block number says 3837004 and when I looked that number up I found out it is a 235 motor that was produced between 1955 and 1957. So now I can safely say this is a 235 engine. On Dec-26-12 at 19:30:38 PST, seller added the following information: Connected a battery to the truck tonight and tried to start it. The motor turned over fine and tried to start but I think the coil is bad. (Doesn't seem to be getting a spark). Good news is the motor cranks fine so with a little electrical help it should start right up.
