Vehicle Detail
This car does not have the original engine so the actual mileage is unknown. I entered 200000 because I had to enter a number. I am certain that it does not have this many miles on it. This was my Dad's baby back when they were both young (he and the car). He raced it in California in the 60's. It was his intention to restore it again after all these years, but then he was diagnosed with cancer and passed away. The interior and exterior both need a lot of work. The Low Light is a rare model of Karmann Ghia. On Dec-15-12 at 08:03:12 PST, seller added the following information: I don't know more details about the transmission except that it is a Porche part. I believe the brakes are too but not certain. I know they were beefed up for racing. Last time it was driven was about 30 years ago. I don't see rust holes in the floor but there is alot of dirt there blocking my view. I don't see major body damage. Most of the damage is from horses chewing on the paint and the sun baking the car for 30 years. I think a little bondo and paint would make it beautiful again. The engine is a v8 corvair but I don't know more details. The title is clear and available. I don't believe it broke down or siezed up or anything like that. It just needs what any car that has been sitting for 30 years would need done to it. The engine conversion was done in the 60's, but I don't know what year exactly. On Dec-15-12 at 13:20:31 PST, seller added the following information: Okay, I have learned from you Karmann Ghia experts out there that this is a V6, not a V8 Corvair engine. I am unable to change the description to V6, so I had to put it here. Also, the vin number is 1350061, not the longer number listed above. On Dec-18-12 at 11:54:09 PST, seller added the following information: More information: The engine is an H6 not a V6. I have added many more pictures to answer many questions. The passenger side wing window is inside the car. Needs to be re installed. The floors look good. There is some type of fiberous lining under the floor mats and I can't pull it up (seems glued) but I do not see any evidence of rust or holes. I have added photos of the rocker panels. I have managed to get the passenger door to close (needs lubrication I think). The driver door window is there, I just can't roll it up. I imagine it needs lubrication as well. I have added pictures of the underside of the front, someone asked if there was rust there. I added pics of the ceiling. Any other questions, please just ask.
