Vehicle Detail
nice driver. runs and drives like a dream. older restoration. has the rare 6 cyl with 3 speed and overdrive. according to my information there were only 654 of these made in 1949 with the 6 cyl eng. it also has the continental kit for the spare tire, another rarity. has good top with the side curtains. seats are in good shape, carpet is ok, little dull but looks ok. is owned by my father who is a professional mechanic. he has done a complete brake job, front and rear. new wheel cylinders, master cyl, and shoes. has had a fresh tune up with all the fluids changed. also has new exhaust sys. needs a few finishing touches (radio not hooked up, heater works but not wired up). i have personally driven this car and it runs and drives great. it also rides better than any car i have driven. feels like you are riding on a cloud. my father aquired it on a trade for another restoration he had done. he has more projects than his garage has room! so it has to go to make room for other restorations he is doing. we have it listed locally and reserve the right to end auction if it sells locally first. my father knows a reputable person locally that can transport. he has a enclosed trailer. i will be answering the emails for him so responses may come in the evening when we are home from work. however if you are serious and would like to talk to him personally i can get you his cell # and you can talk to him via the phone require car be picked up within 7 days of end of auction and a $500 deposit made within 3 days. he does require cash. if other arrangements need to be made please contact before end of sale. thanks and if you have questions i will do my best to get you an answer!!On Dec-11-12 at 14:45:17 PST, seller added the following information: *********** VIN # 89210. ENGINE SER# 1S10512On Dec-11-12 at 18:39:54 PST, seller added the following information: SPEEDOMETER ACTUALLY SHOWS 06837. On Dec-12-12 at 11:20:13 PST, seller added the following information: update. i have been advised by one of the current bidders that this may have had an engine swap at some point from the 4cyl to the 6cyl??? i really do not know. we do not see any thing that suggests that there have been any fabrications done that would indicate that someone put a larger 6cyl in place of the smaller 4cyl. i would think that there would have to be some fabrication on the engine mounts to do this??? i have supplied the vin# which is also on the ky title and the eng ser#. just want to be 100% up front. i would not think there has been a eng swap but....? at any rate this is a great running classic. would be happy to give any TRUELY interested persons a cell # for my father (who ownes the car), so that they can get all info. thanks
