Vehicle Detail
2004 Chevy Aveo in fantastic condition. Only 50,000 miles, everything works. This vehicle is in the last stages of a complete fully electric conversion. All components installed and ready to go with the exception of batteries, charger and battery to battery cabling. I am an automotive electricity instructor at a local college and this was a student project that I was funding. Due to my own son off to college I must sell. Car is set up with an FB2003 144 volt DC electric motor coupled to a 5 speed clutchless transmisison. Curtis 1231C motor controller, Albright high voltage contactors and fuses. High quality cabling and connectors. Elcon DC to DC converter to charge the 12 volt accessory battery. Vacuum pump to supply power to power brakes is installed in the right front fenderwell where intake box used to be. Factory power steering still intact and running off of the electric motor. This vehicle has been professionally wired and built. Brand new front ball joints, brake pads and rotors. All tires in great shape, interior very clean. Car needs nothing mechanically but does have a few small dings that could easily be repaired. All wiring done correctly so there is no check engine light or any other warning messages. Airbags still work as they should. Batteries are not installed but battery trays are built and installed under the hood. Vehicle has been set up to run (12) 12 volt DC batteries from either Trojan or US Battery. 4 batteries under the hood and 8 in the rear. Rear battery trays have not been constructed as I was waiting to see where I would put the charger. As I said, vehicle is set up to run (12) 12 volt batteries for a total of 144 volts but could be configured to run more or less batteries and voltage. Clutchless design omits the clutch pedal entirely so only 3rd, 5th and reverse gears are used. Calculated to get approximately 40 miles per charge. Batteries can charge in 4 hours on 220 volt plug or 8 hours on a 110 volt plug. Less than 1 dollar per charge. No emission testing required at the inspection station! I can deliver the vehicle within 500 miles for a small fee. I have over $10,000 invested but my reserve is set much lower due to my son's college expenses. Estimated cost to finish the car with batteries and charger should run about $3500. All assembly and parts manuals come with the car. If you need help finishing the car I would be glad to assist you over the phone to get the vehicle running. Thanks for looking.
