2003 Saturn ION 3. This has been a very good and reliable vehicle up until a week ago. The car lost power going down the highway. The engine never quit so we were able to drive it home 5 miles away. I started looking into it and I finally got a compression tester and we lost compression in one cylinder. There is absolutely no compression. I removed the head and found a hole in the piston. I don't have anymore time to repair this, but its to nice to go to the junk yard. (The piston still moves up and down) Before pulling the head the car would start and run on 3 cylinders. but the wife decided she wants a new car and I don't have the time or space to work on it. The car never overheated. I would think someone could easily change the motor out and have a nice car. Everything worked on this car. This car drove nice and straight. Transmission shifted just fine. All glass is good. Decent tires. No body damage. This does have a salvage title from about 5 yrs ago, but was repaired professionally. We have never had any problems with the car prior to this. Over all cosmetically I would rate the car an 8 out of 10. Interior and leather is also in good condition. I am selling this car on ebay, because I think it would be a shame not to fix.
