Vehicle Detail
Estate sale. 1950 Studebaker Champion, 4-door sedan, 6 cyl, burgundy, in good condition, no rust, excellent chrome. Garaged for better part of a quarter century in a Louisiana tobacco barn, then a heated garage in Winchester and most recently in storage in northern Mass. Only 3 owners; the farmer's granddaughter who transported her back to the nations capital and weekend excursions to Cheasepeake Bay, a debonair French diplomat and true aficianado of American style of the 1950s and my Dad. This was his baby. After his passing it has come to temporarily reside in Brattleboro, Vermont. Original engine has approx. 130,000 miles. Engine runs, but the new owner will have to make a new key in that it somehow got lost in the shuffle of settling my dads affairs. There is a crack in the rear passenger window glass. Chrome is wonderful, no rust. Paint finish needs a good waxing as it has minor surface scratchs. The brakes need to be looked at as they are sticking. The original interior is stained in places and the carpet needs a deep clean or be replaced. New fuel pump, water pump, ignition system and starter put in during the time my Dad owned it. As far as we can tell, everthing is original and waiting for someone to restore. This is a wonderful opportunity to bring a classic American icon back to it's glory days! We will be available onsite with new owner to coordinate pick-up and loading of vehicle onto trailer. On Dec-07-12 at 12:31:14 PST, seller added the following information: Please note more pictures have been added on 12/7/12 * ADDITIONAL NOTES * Here are a few specific updates since listing opened today to clarify every aspect of the current condition; While the body condition and paint is in very good shape, there are some very minor rust spots on the rear bumper chrome. Also a spot of rust on a rear panel. See pics attached. The carpet in the rear could be cleaned, but the front driver side is torn with missing parts and all carpet should be replaced. The rear passenger window that is cracked has slid down a bit into the door panel and seams to be off its frame, glass should be replaced. There are some white scratches along the left side. There are only two original hubcaps and two plain ones. The main photo was taken by my Dad a few years ago and all of the rest of the pics are within the last week or so.
