Vehicle Detail

From 1964 1/2 to 1966 the Mustang ruled the roost in the pony car craze because there were no comparables to compete. But by 1967 there was a new kid on the block and its name was Camaro. The Camaro took over the pony car era from 1967 to 1969 which labelled the first generation of Camaro's, and was considered the king of the road on any street in America. 1969 became one of the most iconic and the most sought after and most popular of all years. More importantly it became the definition of the muscle car back in that era. When you mentioned muscle car, you immediately think of the Camaro. It had flashy looks and crisp lines. From valences to wings and from 6cyl to big block this car moved, handled and looked great. Chevy hit the mark with this car and it was a success from day one. These cars climbed in value so fast and now because of the struggling economy are still holding strong but instead of high Barrett Jackson numbers they are almost back to Sunday classified prices. But as history repeats itself, these first generation Camaro's will be back as one of the most valuable cars of its era. Now is the time to get them while prices are still obtainable. For this 1969 Camaro offered here today, it started its life as a 6 cyl and ended up with a modern day fuel injected 350 LT1 backed up by a 700r4 transmission and a 3.73 posi rear. Please read on for a full detailed descriptions. Exterior: The exterior of the car is driver quality and will stand tall at any car show or cruise night. Its dressed in a complete z/28 package including front valence and rear wing. Also comes with the raised z/28 hood, electric blue color which holds great luster and white ralley stripes that were painted on and cleared over. The paint job is decent, could there be better? yes, however, a good wet sand and buff would do it good justice. Or just leave it alone because its very presentable as you can see in the pictures. The vinyl top is new and the wheels are NOS 1970 Camaro wheels. The car is very solid, there has been all new floors installed and installed correctly. The trunk pan is very solid with no rot. The chrome bumpers are outstanding, and shines brilliant but has very, very little hazing/pitting. The door handles could use replacing and all the stainless is in excellent condition. The body is straight and has very minimal rust which is all pointed out in the pictures. As you'll see, its very minimal and you'll be able fix as you drive. There is also a few minor dings which most didn't show in the photos, however the two then you will notice are in the photos. As I said earlier this car is a very solid driver which will make you proud, your just not going to win any concourse judging. An older restoration that shows very well. Please look at the pictures and let me know of any questions. Interior: The interior is in excellent condition and has been restored. The dash and door panels are excellent and the seats and carpets are also in excellent condition. The headliner has been replaced with the original date coded seat belts. All the gauges work except the speedometer. (Explained why below). The radio and heater work great along with all the Vents blowing air. All the signals and lights work as well. The interior is in excellent condition and is depicted in the pictures below. The console is also in nice condition. Please let me know if you have any questions. Drive-train: As mentioned earlier, this was a 6 cyl drivetrain but was replaced and customized to fit the power plant of a 1994 Pontiac Trans Am 350 LT1 engine. It was installed completely right including the computer control modules. All injectors and sensors work as they should and runs perfect. Its married to the never dying 700r4 tranny which provided excellent power and a 4th gear overdrive for efficiency. Also out of the Trans Am was the 3.73 Posi rear. This car runs as efficient as they come. The speedometer does not work because the speedo has to be converted to handle the electronic feed coming from the transmission. There are no speedometer cables. The car runs consistently at mid to high 13's in the 1/4 mile. All the tires are newer and have plenty of tread. It still has its original 4 wheel drum brake set up that has all been refreshed and works and stops properly. The suspension has been replaced and the car handles and drives excellent. It will handle a long trip just fine. All other belts and hoses are road worthy and the exhaust is brand new and sounds awesome with dual flowmasters. When I say great driver, I mean great driver, very efficient and very fast. Summation: I can't stress it enough. The car is very solid and in excellent condition for an older restoration. It appears very nice in person and very nice in the photo's. The car can be nit picked so please do not expect a perfect car. The reserve is set well below $20k and is probably one of the best 69 Camaro's out there for the value it provides. An LT1 conversion alone is very time consuming and exepensive. That has already been done and I assure you, it was done right. The body is very solid needing very minor repairs. The floors have been completely and professionally done. An iconic car at a great value.
