Vehicle Detail
Hello everyone, I am selling a Original 1929 Model A ford that I got from my father years ago after he died. It is a 4 door sedan, runs great. The body and engine are in wonderful shape and original. but I know nothing about old cars except you gotta store them when you dont drive it. It has been in storage for quite a while but i do drive it every summer. Under the floor mat on the drivers side is an access board to the battery, it still is on the original 6 volt system. So as with most of the older cars a little tinkering and it starts and goes down the road. The only thing I have ever done to the car is having the carburetor rebuilt and even then it probably didnt need it, I never learned how to properly set the fuel and timing. Every year I drive it with the kids in the summer and it goes back in storage.. I would rather have some land, hence why I sell it. It needs a good person to give it some TLC and then take her to the prom. If you want a piece of history that is not all buggered up, here's your girl. Happy Hunting! Any offers or questions please ask! 616-796-4446 - Note: Questions that have been asked: Yes the four door sedans are rare. You will not find the four door sedans for sale very often and if you do they are totally restored, very expensive or they are junk. My car comes with a maintenance book I bought, gear oil that I bought for the trans (if I know where I put it), the trunk on the back. HOW IT DRIVES: Drives Good!! When I drive it the front end does not shake. The top has never leaked. The engine is all original including the generator, fan (i think the fan belt too its old), radiator and hose. TRANSMISSION: Shifts fine with no wine. TRADES: Sorry, this is a cash deal as I am buying land and cannot spend a motor home. My Dad took me and a girl on my first date in this car. He played the Chauffeur. It left quite an impression for both me and her. Make your own memory as he did and give this girl a good home. Produced 1929, 1930, 1931 and had 6 different models. Predecessor was Model-T sold form 1908 to 1927, antique car, old car, popular over chevy chevrolet, chrysler. used in movies, luxury sedan, phaetons, pickup, tudor, fordor, roadster, sport and business coupe. Used as limousine coach at weddings or special events. notes 1932, 1933, 1934 this model was favorite. The Model A was the first Ford to use the standard set of driver controls with conventional clutch and brake pedals; throttle and gearshift. Previous Ford models used controls that had become uncommon to drivers of other makes. The Model A's fuel tank was located in the cowl, between the engine compartment's fire wall and the dash panel. It had a visual fuel gauge, and the fuel flowed to the carburetor by gravity. A rear view mirror was optional.[1] In cooler climates, owners could purchase an aftermarket cast iron unit to place over the exhaust manifold to provide heat to the cab. A small door provided adjustment of the amount of hot air entering the cab. Model A was the first car to have safety glass in the windshield. Prices for the Model A ranged from US$385 for a roadster to $1400 for the top-of-the-line Town Car. The engine was a water-cooled L-head 4-cylinder with a displacement of 201 cu in (3.3 l). This engine provided 40 hp (30 kW; 41 PS). Typical fuel consumption was between 25 and 30 mpg (U.S.) (8 to 12 kilometres per litre or 8-9 l/100 km using a Zenith one-barrel up-draft carburetor, with a top speed of around 65 mph (105 km/h); It had a 103.5 in (2,630 mm) wheelbase with a final drive ratio of 3.77:1. The transmission was a conventional 3-speed sliding gear manual unsynchronised unit with a single speed reverse. The Model A had 4-wheel mechanical drum brakes. The 1930 and 1931 editions came with stainless steel radiator cowling and headlamp housings.
