Vehicle Detail
1970 Dodge Dart Swinger 340 #'s Matching Hurst 4spd Origional Dual Snorkel Hood Origional Top Banana Yellow ( FY1 Code ) Canadian Built Car! This Dart Come's With NY Transferable Registration And Original Fender Tag! Growing up in the 70's and 80's we took for granted what these cars really were. My father drove a 1972 Dodge Dart Swinger with a slant 6 in it. If we took family trips that lasted over an hour my brother and I would get car sick. I don't know if it was the smell of the vinyl, or the staticky AM radio station that never seemed to tune in, but what I do know was that these cars were just every day cars getting us from one place to the other. But I also remember saying what I would do to that car if it was mine. We all know that tune, telling our friends we would install a fast engine, jack the car up with air shocks, big cragers in the back and thin ones in the front. Paint the car a cool color(if we could afford it) and a pair of duals breathing out the back. It seemed like we could make any car cool back in the 70's. However, with this 1970 Dart Swinger available today, was already fast with a powerful and rare 340 V8, it originally came in Top Banana Yellow and was optioned with dual exhaust and a 4 speed tranny. It was like a young teenager was working for Dodge and he put together the car we all wanted. That kid never leaves us. And a car that is optioned like this is one of the reasons whey they are so desirable today. Yet another MOPAR car removed from a vast collection(see our other auctions) Please read on about this super rare car offered today and let us know of any questions you may have. Exterior: Although black in the pictures, this car came factory with the Top Banana paint color Code FY1. As you can also see this car has seen its better days. The floors for the exception of a little spot on the driver's side are all solid in the car, however, the most affected areas are the passenger side inner fender, the rockers and the quarters. The fender tag is intact and still on the car. The windsheild is cracked. It also has the true, dual snorkel, factory hood on the car. The wheels are Dart GT wheels. The brightwork is all original. This will be a restoration project but well worth the time and effort. These Darts are becoming as collectable as the Challengers especially with options this car came with. Please look at the pictures and let us know of any questions. Interior: Aside from a good cleaning, this original black interior car is in excellent condition. All the seats, dash and door panels are in excellent condition for being original. It even has the original rolling knob AM radio. The top of the dash is even in good shape with the exclusion of the mounted "vintage" tachometer. All original date coded seatbelts are intact as well. As I mentioned this is an original interior and is in original condition. It is not show quality and would be good as it sits with a good cleaning, but to make it show quality, it will need restoration. The build sheet is not under the seat, but may still be in the headliner. Please look at the pictures and let us know of any questions you may have. Drivetrain: This rare Dart came with and still has the factory 340 4bbl V-8. It also has the rare optioned factory 4 speed tranny. The motor is all intact and spins freely. We didn't go any further then checking if the motor spins. This is a matching numbers car and the drivetrain, I would assume would at least need a freshon up. The car was driven into the collection and parked, and sat from there. All the wheels are free spinning as wheel and it comes with factory disk brakes on the front. Please let us know of any questions you may have. In Summation: If you're looking for a Dart to restore, this would be a good candidate. A highly performanced optioned car with the snorkel hood, 340 and 4 speed is a great start. Expect a restoration project when purchasing. Let us know of any questions you may have.
