One Of Many Rare Mopar's I Will Be Listing! 1970 Barracuda Gran Cuda #'s Matching 383 Big Block Factory A/C Car Factory FK5 Burnt Orange Paint Code - Factory Orange / White Hounds-tooth Interior FULLY LOADED AND HIGHLY OPTIONED CUDA P Code 1 Of Only 945 70 Gran Cuda 383 2v Cuda's Produced Factory Fender Tag Still In Place! We Also Have The Original Broadcast Sheet! NY Transferable Registration Included Back in the mid 80's my father took me out to look for a car. One of the cars we looked at was a 1970 Cuda 4 speed. In 1985 a '70 Cuda was just an old car and the owner was asking $1500. The car ran great and looked great and I remember the day so vividly, me being a young kid wanted the car in the worst way, but my father offered the guy $900. He came back at $1100 my father refused and walked away. He was trying to teach me the art of negotiation, however, we walked away empty handed and my heart broken. We never heard from the guy again and now 27 years later, that 'Cuda turned from an old car to one of the most sought after muscle cars of that era. Little did we know back then, that the cars that we traded baseball cards for or were up on blocks in our neighbor's yard would be so valuable. But now during these economic times, these cars, once achieving over $100k at high line auctions, are now back to Sunday classified prices. As we mentioned in our other MOPAR auctions, we are liquidating a vast collection of MOPARS from a gentleman that had the foresight back in the day to know these cars were special then and will be the most collected of the muscle car era. This 70 Cuda offered here today, is one of the rare ones, with production numbers under 1000 and a list of unusual options makes this a sure bet when investing in a muscle car from this vintage. Please read on to see why you can't judge this book by its cover.... Exterior: The exterior in the pictures is white, however this car was born with the ever so popular and desirable burnt orange (FK5) color code. As you can see from the pictures, this car has seen its better days, however, the car has never been restored. Back in the 70's and 80's no one knew these cars where going to be so collectible(except the gentleman we acquired these cars from) and we painted them with rollers, brushes and often changed the color 2 or 3 times because there were companies like Earl Sheib that would paint your car for $99.00. This rare car is all there and will need some metal and a full restoration to bring back to its original luster. The rear sub frame has Alot of rot and the so do the floors. The Floors Are shot but the trunk pan is good. The body lines are pretty straight and it appears that all panels are original and unmolested. Its the fender tag and the ingredients on the build sheet that make this car so special. This also is a Gran Coupe model that had special factory luxury options in addition to great styling. The bright work is not so bright anymore and will need replacing. Has the original dog dish hubcaps and steel wheels. Please look at all the pictures and let us know of any questions you may have. We've included a picture of the build sheet to show you this car is proven with documentation. Interior: The interior of this car is what makes this car very desirable. It came from the factory with the super rare hound's tooth interior. It also came with options such as the factory A/C and an overhead console which warned you of seat belts, door ajar and low fuel. The dash comes complete with the full gauge package and wrapped in wood grain. The interior has been untouched and holds all factory options except the radio. The Gran Coupe is rare, but with the compilation of all other options, there were less then 1000 produced and out of that it is hard to find an exact number of the factory white inserted hound's tooth interiors were produced. Some MOPAR experts I've blogged with say less then a 100, but I haven't confirmed that. As you can see from the pictures the interior is all there and is in need of a good cleaning and restoration. Please look at all the pictures and let us know of any questions you may have. Drivetrain: This is a true numbers matching 383 car. It has the original block, heads, radiator and components. The A/C has been removed and the original two barrel carburetor has been removed as well. These cars were sitting in a vast collection for years and have not been driven or started for that matter. This car is sold as not running but complete. The engine is free spinning and thats the extent of what we checked out. Assume a full restoration and freshen up on the brakes, suspension, gas lines and belts and hoses. Please let us know of any questions you may have. In Summation: As you can read and see from the description this car is in need of a full restoration. This is a true barn find minus the barn. It does come complete with rare options, a fender tag, the original SUPER RARE build sheet and hound's tooth interior. When choosing a restoration project, it starts with the original documentation. It makes the car more valuable and more desirable. This car has all the right ingredients and is the right choice when choosing a project like this. Thanks so much for looking and please check out our other rare MOPAR auctions. Original Broadcast Sheet Below
