Vehicle Detail
1970 Buick GS 455. This is the real deal, not a tribute or a clone. Original Matching Numbers. 455 cubic inch, 7.4 liter big block muscle car monster. Turbo 400 automatic, floor shift, tilt column, AC, power brakes, power steering, remote sport mirror, map light rear view mirror, gauge pack/ tach, bucket seats, factory radio, rear defrost, sport steering wheel, 15 inch factory mags and more. This car was built at the GM plant in Fremont California was purchased new from Boulevard Buick, Long Beach, California on September 26th, 1970, with 15 miles on the odometer. The original owner lived here in Long Beach as well as each subsequent owners. I am the fourth owner of this car and I live too reside in Long Beach. I purchased the car almost 20 years ago with the intent of making it into a GSX clone (keep in mind matching #s and factory correct was not as big of a deal back then). I have many parts that are included with the purchase of the car but not shown in the pictures. In 2004 I put quite a bit of time and money into the car. Transmission was rebuilt and ring gear in the non posi axle was replaced (they both still only have about 100 miles on them). A fresh paint job, new Soft Seal rubber installed on door and trunk, a new NOS grille, carpet, etc. The car looked awesome. I got to enjoy driving it for about a month. I was at a stop sign and was front ended by an unlicensed & uninsured driver. No frame damage, just dented hood, bent bumper, destroyed grill, punctured radiator, and broken heart. That same evening in my youthful frustration I lit up the tires leaving a friend house and probably broke the crankshaft. I say probably because I managed to limp the car home and parked it. My enthusiasm and desire to address said issues crumbled that day and the car has sat pretty much sat untouched except by the weather since . It is now time for me to move on. This is an opportunity to make an investment in a classic muscle car that surely will increase in value over time. True big block muscle cars have been snatched up by over seas buyers and are getting hard to find at an affordable buy in price these days. Here is a very solid foundation and perfect restoration candidate to become one of those high dollar cars seen selling for astronomical prices on those high profile televised auctions.
