Vehicle Detail
This is a beautiful 1979 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith II. This car is in beautiful condition and only has 16188 miles. It has spent all its life being used as a private limousine for celebrities to be picked up at O'Hare Airport and transported to Johnson's Publication, in Downtown Chicago. It spent all of its off time from the day it was bought in a heated garage, other than coming out for a drive here and there. It was also used in several car shows and got many head turns and curious people. There is no rust, and very little amount of ding or scratches anywhere on the car. This car is completely original and has all the original records to go along with it, including a complete history of maintenance done by the original dealer in Chicago. The exterior of this car is beautiful for being 33 years old. There are very few blemishes anywhere and the paint still shines. All chrome is beautiful and reflective. Even the blue everflex top is in prime condition and not peeling anywhere. From the looks of the car it would never be guessed that it was from 1979. All the original wheels and hub caps are in place, including the original spare (never been used), with near new tires. Unfortunately the tool kit was stolen. The pictures barely do their justice compared to actual view of this blue "flying lady." The interior of the car is just as impressive as the outside. The dark blue VM3209 upholstery is in very good condition. All the leather is still soft and smooth. The carpets are all still looking good as well. The headliner is very clean and looks great as well. Even the African Burl Wood trim, lacing the entire interior, is in fantastic, shiny condition. The original sheep skin floor mats, from Rolls Royce, are still included in the car and are in very good condition. All the lights work and so do the gauges. The air conditioning still blows cold air, the heater is still hot, the windows still go up and down (the rear passanger window is just a little slower than the rest), the seats move in all directions and are in great shape. This interior is immaculate and I cannot stop being impressed with it. The car even has the original foot rests for the back!!!! (see pictures) The looks of this car are not the only impressive things about it. The driving is just as wonderful. The car's 6.7 Liter V-8 is fantastic. It pulls the car without a problem under full load and is very smooth about it. The transmission going along with that is great. This car feels like ultimate luxury. It pulls straight and true. The engine runs and idles perfectly which is part of its fantastic ride. Not only is it great when moving, but those Rolls Royce breaks are in working order as well and has no problem stopping this 4700 pound car smoothly and non-disruptively. And the power steering (which is helpful for such a large car) couldnt work better. This car is a fantastic car for anyone. It can be used as a daily driver if so wanted. It could also be for picking up people and transport. Or just for weekend fun. This car is guaranteed to be a head turner and a fun drive. It also has a history making it a good story/bragging tool. John Henry Johnson, the original owner, was a tribute to American history with his story of making it from nothing to something through his hard work and dedication. As a matter of fact last February the US Postal Service made tributed stamps in honor of him, which can be seen on USPS web site. You can also look up on Johnson Publication's website a biography of the man to see what a great man he was. This is a private sale and the car is sold as is. If you have any questions about the car, feel free to ask. Happy bidding.
