Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a 1970 Dodge Challenger Yellow,440 six pack, 4spd manual, console, Dana rear (354) vehicle. This car was born a 318 console auto car but when found the original drive train was missing. This car was restored to 97% exact clone from a dated 1970 block to the original 1970 440/ Hemi 2998956 max cool radiator. No expense was spared on this restore for example the 4 wheel drum brake system was replaced with a 1970 front disc brake system including 1970 2 piece discs, 1970 calipers 1970 1 year only 2998171 E body only master cylinder and all was rebuilt by Brake and Equipment Warehouse. Stainless steel Gas and Brake lines, Legendary Interior seat covers, headliner and carpet. Numerous Year one, Summit Racing, Tony Mopar, Mopar performance, R/T Specialties, Brewer Performance, PS auto glass, INLINE Tubes and so on parts...to much to list. The 440 engine was rebuilt by a master engine and race shop 60 over, with Comp Cam part #21-227-4, roller rockers just to list a bit, I have the spec sheet on the engine which 9.7-1 compression and yes it does have the 906 heads and 3 brand new Holley Carbs that sit on top of Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold. The original HP exhaust manifold were powdercoated and installed. The suspension on this auto was taken apart and all permanent pieces including the K frame were powdercoated and installed with KYB shocks painted black to give original look. The interior was restored with great care. The dash pad has a 3 speaker dash (the driverside corner has a bit of a hole otherwise mint). The Rally dash, pistol grip, wiper motor, drivers side mirror, wiper arms, 3 speed linkage restored gy Jules in Canada. All new wiring (5) harnesses all purchased from year one. PG classic seatbelts and more to much to list. I can go on and on about this car fron the original 4 speed trani safety switch and reverse lock out linkage to the original 833 trani that was rebuilt with Mcleod flywheel, 3 finger clutch, and parts. Brand new BF Goodrich Radial T/A's 245/60/15 that are mounted on wheel vintiques rims and center caps. The tires 1425 miles on them and by the way thats what the engine also has. The bumpers are original and were sent to Tri City Platin and are Flawless. Once again I can go on and on about this car. Now why I am selling it, yes it did get wet during Hurricane Sandy. My garage got 20 inches of water and the car was in there. There is no evidence of water on the dipstick, all lights and horn work, the starter does not turn. The seats and carpet are wet as well as the TTI exhaust and Dynamax mufflers. The water does not look like it made it up to the fuse box. This car took me six years to build and could be a easy fix. I have to much on my plate with the damage to my home to get involved with this right now so I figure I part ways and let somebody with the time and expertice fix it. This Challenger when running was fantastic, ran like an animal sounded great and got many of looks and compliments whoever gets this car is getting some bargain. My loss is your gain. This car is not equipped with a steering wheel (the reason it was not moved) or radio. .. On Nov-24-12 at 05:36:29 PST, seller added the following information: Ps. No spare tire and I have the original build sheet and the fender tag is on the car. Email me with questions or for more pictures Thank youOn Nov-26-12 at 14:50:55 PST, seller added the following information: I am getting alot of the same questions, so let me clarify. This car was in a salt water flood 20 inches of water came into my garage. This is a 1970 auto it does not have a title it has a transferable registration. So I dont know if it will have a salvage title since it does not have a title. The DMV told me most likely not. I do know that the car will have a water car fax. The car looks exactly the same as the pictures that I have posted it just need a good going through and got wet. I did push the car out of the gagarge the day after Sandy and hose it down above and below. I am working thing out with my insurance they told me they will notify the NY DMV that this car was in a flood. Hope this answers your questions. Also it is very hard for me to be around for inspections. Thanks
