Vehicle Detail
Great Christmas Present! ( i will add the vin later today, have to go outside and copy it down) I am not a car dealer, mechanic, or professional ebay seller. This is only the 2nd vehicle i have ever sold online, however i have bought more than a dozen since ebay started from as far away as Boston, Chicago, Dallas, New York, and Portland. (all of which I drove home). I am just a regular guy looking to sell and reach the widest possible audience for this somewhat uncommon and cool car. That being said, here is what I have: This is a 1971 Ford Mustang Coupe. The car is in good condition and could be your daily driver if you wanted. As we get harsh winters here, the car has only been driven on the occasional Saturday between June and September for the past few years. Probably put on less than 500 miles/year over the past 7 years. I had held onto this car for years hoping my teens would want it as their first car, however they have now decided that they would prefer something different, so the time has come to sell it. Its my understanding that there are a lot of unqualified and deadbeats on Ebay automotive these days, so I will try this out only once and if it fails to sell I will resign myself to using local classified ads instead. If your ebay account is new, has negative feedback, or there are other reasons why you might appear to be a timewaster, I will cancel your bid without warning so that legitimate bidders can buy it. Contact me by message if this is a problem for you. I purchased this car many years ago from a medical student in Vancouver. He had owned it since his teenage years and is the one who had spent a lot of money restoring and repairing it to the condition that it is in today. Since I have owned it, the only repair it has ever needed was to have the carb rebuilt this past summer. The mechanic said that it had dried out because I dont drive the car enough and it sits for about 9 months of each year in storage over winter. Other than that, I have not had to put a cent into the car and it starts, runs, and drives perfectly each summer. Let me describe it in detail, in case the pictures I am attaching do not tell the whole story. Motor, Transmission, Drivetrain It has a 250 ci 6 cyl motor. It is the original motor and has never been rebuilt. It does puff a little bit of blue smoke when you first start it, but still runs perfectly and my Ford Mechanic says it needs nothing. Each spring it gets into the shop for an oil change and then I drive it about 12 to 20 days over the summer, mostly weekends. It is a 3 speed manual transmission. All the gears work fine, never a problem, no noise or grinding. The clutch works great, no play in it or problems at all, previous owner had replaced it before I purchased it. The tires are like new, probably less than 3000 miles on them. Brakes are excellent, no weakness or play in them. *The previous owner included a power steering pump and disc brakes when I purchased it, they have been in the trunk of the car for the past 7 years and will come with the car should you want to make the upgrades. I preferred to leave it stock. Interior The previous owner repaired/replaced the entire interior. The seats are all still in like new condition, the dash is new and perfect, the carpet has all been replaced, the headliner is perfect, the guages all work perfectly, the wipers and heater function as new, and the original AM radio is there and still working. I believe that he spent a few thousand bucks to have this all done, and it looks great. Exterior The car has ZERO rust that I can see anywhere on it and has been like that for the past 7 years. I have been around it and under it many times and there is no rust to be found. There may have been some a decade ago when the car was repainted, but if there was it must have been removed or repaired. The frame is clean, the rockers and wheels wells are perfect. The paint is yellow as you can see in the pics. Not a perfect paintjob but it has been on the car for a decade and still looks great today. The chrome trim for the rear window and side dripcaps is in the trunk, I have no idea why, but I have never bothered to put it on the car, it will be included and you can do what you wish with it. The glass is all original and perfect. All lights work as they should. The only negative at all is a small spot on the roof that if the light hits it just right you can tell is a bit dimpled, its not easy to see but thats about the only thing I can think of to note. The car is stock right down to the hubcaps. I probably am missing some information that you might want to know, so feel free to message me and ask. I will try to respond to all questions within a day or two. Rest assured that this car is in above average condition. It gets minimal usage and is decently maintained as long as I have owned it. I know its not as collectible and a 1964 to 1969 model, but the fact that it is in such stock condition and such solid condition is why I bought it in the first place. I have every confidence knowing whomever the next owner is can drive it for another decade without putting money into it, its just that reliable. Location/Shipping I live just North of the Montana border by about 70 miles. If you google map "Lethbridge, Alberta" you will be able to see where the car is located. A buyer could fly in and drive this car anywhere in North America without problem. The Amtrak train comes somewhat nearby through SHELBY, Montana. Taking the car from Canada into the USA is a pretty basic process and simple paperwork since it was manufactured there, but this will be the buyers responsibility, so don't expect that I am going to do it for you. If you choose to ship the vehicle, you are responsible for getting your own quote and shipping it, so don't bother asking. The shipping company gets paid to do that, I don't. Title The vehicle is free of all liens and encumbrances and registered in Alberta, Canada. It is fully licensed and insured year round. I will provide the buyer with a signed bill of sale as well as a signed Alberta Vehicle Registration. BEFORE THE AUCTION ENDS 1. you are welcome to ask questions 2. you are welcome to come see it, start it, drive it, inspect it or have a 3rd party do this for you 3. you are welcome to get your own shipping quote from LETHBRIDGE to your city AFTER THE AUCTION After you win the auction, you are expected to pay $1000 deposit immediately by paypal. The balance must be paid within 5 days via guaranteed funds. The vehicle must be removed within 30 days unless arrangements have been made and agreed upon. I don't want to be a jerk about this, but I see far too many auctions where the buyer was an idiot, so if you dont have your money ready or cannot pay the deposit immediately, your gonna have a problem. There is the potential that I may be able to drive and deliver the vehicle depending upon the winning bidders location, however I will only discuss and negotiate this service AFTER the vehicle is paid in FULL.
