Welcome, you are bidding on a real beauty of an original unrestored car from 1964. I have not had or seen an original unrestored car this old and this nice before. This car has only had two owners in its life and just a total of 71,000 miles on it. The first bought it new in 1963 and then sold it to his accountant in 1994. The accountant had it painted in 1994 the original color. The accountant then died and left the car to his daughter who has had it garaged since then. I would imagine the car has been garaged all its life due to how nice it is. She kept the car up and running and would drive it every other week. I have about $2,500 worth of recent service records that go with the car. I don't think there is really anything left mechanically to do on the car except fix the windshield wipers which are not working. The carburator was rebuilt, new fuel pump, battery, radiator, etc. I just had the heater core replaced in it myself. This car is turn key and ready to drive. All lights and signals work, high and low beam. This car seems to have come with many options on it, being that it has the 400 trim package. EXTERIOR/BODY: This car is as straight as it gets. I could not find any rust on it or body damage repairs. The chrome is in great shape and a polishing would have this car looking amazing. Car has had one repaint in 1994, they matched it with the original color and did a great professional job. Even the original rubbers on this car look good. I only found to two small quarter sized dings on the whole car. One on the drivers side front chrome trim piece and one on the passenger side rear quarter panel. This car still retains its original black and yellow plates from 1964. Both bumpers are in great shape with no pitting or dings. Front bumper with optional grill guard will come out beautiful after polishing. Lines and gaps on this car are straight as can be. Car still even has the original tinted windshield and its in great shape. ENGINE/TRANSMISSION: This car fires right up and runs and drives like new. It idles smooth and makes great power. I believe it has the upgraded 3.8 litre 230 cubic inch inline six engine. I'm not for sure though as they did make a 3.2 litre 194 cubic inch inline six motor as well. Both were upgrades from the base inline four cylinder. Maybe someone who can tell will let me know. Car has the automatic PowerGlide transmission which shifts smoothly. Truly a joy to drive. INTERIOR: Interior is amazing on this car. Not a crack on the dash. A good detailing will have it look like new. The dual bench seats are original and in great shape. Only one small tear on the passenger which I unfortunately did today. The front bench has a heavy duty clear plastic cover over it that I've left on there. I believe that and being garaged out of the sun is whats preserved it in such good condition. Interior is not even that crispy, but is fragile as it is almost 50 years old. Car still retains the original AM radio. Car could use a vacuuming and clean the mat where the old heater core was leaking. HeaterCore was replaced yesterday. WHEELS/TIRES/BRAKES: Car has the original wheels and all four hubcaps. Tires look pretty good, but I know they are old. Also has the original spare in trunk. Brakes work good and have service records for work done. OVERALL: This is a beautiful vintage chevy. Drive it, have fun in it. Take people out with the dual bench seats and four doors.
