Vehicle Detail

For sale is a very difficult to find 288GTO re-bodied 308. It started life as a 1981 Ferrari 308 and has been transformed into a Ferrari that looks like the $800,000+ Italian super-car. One-upping Ferrari (if that's possible) this car has carbon-fiber composite 288 GTO styled panels, giving this Ferrari a carbon fiber composite body. The original 288 GTO built in 1984 was made mainly of fiberglass. What makes this 288GTO conversion different from virtually all others ever sold?: Heres' a list of some of its features: 4 Carrelo front driving lights (reproduction unbreakable polycarbonate lenses). Cloisonne Scuderia fender badges (not decals). Correct styled 288 GTO door handles. Correct styled Lexan vented quarter windows. GTO rear badging. Correct looking GTO styled seats. Correct looking GTO styled door panels. Correct styled GTO dash. GTO dash badging. Correct styled rear engine cover with louvers. Correct style GTO front valance. If you look closely you will notice the door gaps, hood gaps etc... shut & match up much nicer than an original GTO. The paint is smooth as glass. Ebay wont allow a link to a Youtube video anymore. However if you copy the text below and go to Youtube.com you should be able to view a video of the car: Videos title: "Conversion288gtoFerrari" I entered that text on youtube, and found it was the 2nd video from the top. Look for the red car thumbnail. Make sure to run all the text together without spaces. Reason the car is being sold: We make the parts for the 328 and 308 Ferraris to re-body the cars into a 288GTO styled cars. The car was built as a show car, an example of what the parts look like installed on a 308 Ferrari. This particular car was purchased with a very slight engine fire... not bad enough to burn the car, but bad enough to melt some plastic on the engine & melt through a few hoses. It also wasn't bad enough to total the car, the title is a normal (non-salvaged) CLEAN Ferrari title. An excellent starting car to build a 288GTO "clone". We sold the engine/trans. and started building the 288 body & interior. THERE IS NO ENGINE OR TRANS. IN THE CAR, JUST TO BE CLEAR. Once you've bought the car; It's ready for an engine of your choice (360? 355? Chevy ZO6?). To make this the true super car of it's potential, I would install and update the brakes with Brembo, Wilwood or Bear big brakes. An adjustable coil-over suspension set up would give the car a better ride and allow you to give this Ferrari a great looking low stance. NicksForzaFerrari.com has great set-ups for both brake & suspension upgrades. Great Ferrari engines can be bought from FerrPart.com in Sacramento, Ca. I'm good friends with them and can probably help you obtain a good price from them (if you'd like). Save yourself the stress of having a 288GTO built for you... The stress of dealing with a body-shop, & the inevitable year-long build that most shops will take (getting a 308 or 328 Ferrari to this point). My reserve price is BELOW what it would cost you to have this car built for you, as it sits right now. Below are reasonable costs that would be incurred building the car as you see it now: Clean title 1981 308 minus engine....... $13,000. 288GTO re-body parts (complete).... $18,500. Interior upholstery..................................... $8,500. Dash carbon fiber facia............................ $3,500. Rims/tires....................................................... $2,500. Installation, paint & reassembly......... $18,000. Total................................................................ $64,000. Needed: Brakes...................................... Adjustable suspension........... Engine/trans............................ *Remember my reserve price is MUCH LOWER than the price you'd pay to have this car built for you to the point it's at. This may literally be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity... & save you a years worth of time dealing with a body-shop having a car built for you. Happy bidding and GOOD LUCK!! PS: My Ebay user name is "exoticdesign". I have over 550 positive feedbacks with 100% positive. I'm using a friends ebay account for this add, as my account wasn't allowing me to post an add for some reason. It you go to "exoticdesign" account you will see the GTO kits for sale and see the 560+ 100% positive feedbacks. Bid with confidence. I can assist with shipping after the auction if you need it, just call me: 805-0295-0180. Ventura Ca. (Southern California).
