Vehicle Detail

All- The car is being re-listed due to a non paying overseas bidder from Iceland. Don't let the need of paint fool you this car has had $3000 plus spent on it this year so take please take the time to read the entire auction so you don't miss out on the best MGB deal of the year. This year the following items where done: New starter installed, new thermostat, new front wheel bearings, new motor mounts, new motor mount bracket, new rear wheel bearings, new rear brake cylinders, new rear brake shoes, new rear brake hose, new U-joints, new U-joint flange, new rear shims, new hand brake cable, hand brake handle, new dash fan switch and some other small items. The wire wheels where sand blasted, primed and repainted, new Michelin P 175 / 70 R 14 tires installed and to top it off all new chrome two eared knocks off's where installed ( this was not cheap to do and they look great! ). The carpet and top where replaced this year as well. The car handles very nice on the road for a 40 year old car ( does not have over-drive ) and is super fun to drive. This week I had the car serviced to include new plugs, new ignition wires, new rotor cap, new rotor button, new air filters, oil changed, the radiator was drained / flushed, new coolant added and new radiator cap installed. The carbs have excellent throttle response and the engine is strong and tight ( no fluid leaks I can see / find at this time ). All gauges including the speedometer, tachometer, odmemeter, trip meter, temp gauge ( a bit slow but does come up ), gas gauge and oil pressure gauge are working. All front / rear running lights work, all front / rear turn signals work, brake lights work, interior courtesy light works, head lights work high / low beam, horn works, wipers work, washer fluid pump works ( needs lines to the windshield jets checked ) dash gauge lights work, fan motor works, radio works, seat belt warning light works, lighter works. The clutch is strong and the transmission and rear end make no noises. The reverse gear is strong and the car will reverse up an incline without popping out of gear. The car starts right up at the touch of the key with just a bit of choke needed if sitting for several days or a week. The car does not smoke nor does the engine have any noises, rattles, does not shake about and the oil pressure stays around 55 lbs or so when up to temp . The exhaust sounds great. The interior is in good / driving quality condition with new carpet this year, new shift boot, new leather shift knob and new chrome shift retaining ring.. The inner and outer rocker panels look good. The car has good glass all the way around. The car does not have a top cover or tonneau cover. The car has spare wire wheel, original jack and owners handbook. The car also comes with a luggage rack but it does need to be re-chromed.The car comes with a clear NC title. The odometer is showing 87068 miles but since I can not verify them to be correct I'm selling the car "mileage exempt". I'm not an expert and my opinion of what a "driver" quality car is may vary from yours so please look at the photos closely and if you need more information or photos please ask prior to bidding. I know how hard it is to purchase a car online so please ask any and all questions you have prior to bidding or if you can come see and drive the car for yourself ( I really encourage you to do so ) as I want the winning bidder to be satisfied with the car when it arrives. If you need to have the car shipped to your location you can get a free online quote from Able Auto Transport at: http://www.ableautotransport.com/ .The auction is open to overseas bidders and if you need to ship overseas try Ronex shipping for free quotes. Please know that listing this car on E-bay is not cheap so you are bidding to purchase the car and must have funds available at auctions end. I work out of town and will be gone a lot next week so my emails back to you might take a while but I will respond to them as soon as I can. Also, car was sold to me as a numbers matching car and I have done my research online and believe it to be so but you would need to do your own research to ensure that is the case. The vin number is GHN5UD319749G, the commission number is G23N081647, production date is June 1973 and the engine number is 18V672Z-L16196. If you run the trace through the Heritage-Motor-Centre.co.uk and it comes back like I think it will the value of the car will increase by at least $2000 making this a steal and the deal of the year given the starting price of the auction. On Nov-09-12 at 07:43:45 PST, seller added the following information: Hello All, I have had many questions about the car and have answer all of them but for some reason they are not being post on the auction so here's and update. The car shifts great up through the gears but does "scrape" when down shifting into 2nd from 3rd. Again the transmission and rear and strong and quite but it does scrape when down shifting into 2nd from 3rd. The bumpers are of average condition, inner and outer sills look good. There is some rust on the passengers floor board and the drivers floor board. The frame looks very good to me but this is my opinion and your may vary. Again, please ask any and all questions prior to bidding as I'm running the auction to sell the car not and not sell it at auction just so the winning bidder can then come and decide if they want it. So if you bid you are buying the car at the time of the auctions close. I can be reached at 336-847-6867 to discuss any and all of your questions about the car prior to bidding or auctions end. On Nov-22-12 at 15:55:15 PST, seller added the following information: Hello All, I want to clear up a few things. The car does have the common issue of having a crack between the side mirrors and the window frame. It looks like they where repaired / being repaired at some point. I would plan on spending $150 to $175 during the time the car is in for paint. The bumpers and grill are OK but I would replace them as complete front / rear bumper kits with mounting hardware are only about $390 and a new grill is only about $125. Opinions vary and what I might say if good or great may vary from your opinion so please feel free to contact me at 336-847-6867 and we can discuss the car in detail.
