Vehicle Detail
1972 Fiat Spider. My dad bought this about 30 years ago. At that time, there was something wrong with the transmission. He bought and rebuilt a transmission, but never installed it (included in sale). It's been sitting in a garage on crushed stone since then. He has passed away, and I need to sell this car to settle the estate. Have title from seller from 1982 (VA title); the seller signed the back of it then, but the purchaser information was never filled in. I listed this before, but the high bidder couldn't arrange the import/export paperwork. Since towing it out of the garage I've been able to inspect it more carefully. It does have some rust issues. Surface rust in places, and some problems on the driver's side sill (see picture). As I indicated, it's been sitting in a garage for 30 years. Engine ran fine in 1982, but hasn't been turned over since. Car located in Bethesda, MD, just outside of Washington, DC. Payment within THREE days of auction end, car MUST be gone by 11/28. The house has been sold and goes to closing at the end of November, and the property has to be cleared. If the car isn't picked up by then, there won't be a refund. I'll be happy to arrange towing to a buyer-arranged storage facility if needed (at buyer's expense) but storage in the DC area is probably pretty pricey. No visits to inspect the car are possible. There have already been problems with thefts from the premises. Due to the configuration of the property (road, driveway, fences, etc.) a large multi-car trailer probably can't access the car. A single-car trailer or rollback would have no problem.
