1973 Plymouth Barracuda 440 Cuda No Reserve! Back in the mid 80's my father took me out to look for a car. One of the cars we looked at was a 1973 Plymouth Barracuda 4 speed. In 1985 a 1973 Plymouth Barracuda was just an old car and the owner was asking $1500. The car ran great and looked great and I remember the day so vividly, me being a young kid wanted the car in the worst way, but my father offered the guy $900. He came back at $1100 my father refused and walked away. He was trying to teach me the art of negotiation, however, we walked away empty handed and my heart broken. We never heard from the guy again and now 27 years later, that 'Cuda turned from an old car to one of the most sought after muscle cars of that era. Little did we know back then, that the cars that we traded baseball cards for or were up on blocks in our neighbor's yard would be so valuable. But now during these economic times, these cars, once acheiving over $100k at high line auctions, are now back to Sunday classified prices. History always seems to repeat itself, yet this time, we are all armed with the knowledge that these cars will rise higher then ever before. Please read on about this 73 Cuda we offer here today. A project car for sure, but a running muscle car with built power and all the ingredients to be a sure money maker. And at NO RESERVE, this is sure to fit any budget. Exterior: As mentioned above, this is a project car, but all the floors, trunk, subframe, shock towers and rockers are solid. The area needed the most attention is the driver's side rear quarter panel. The paint color is the rare meadow green that was repainted back in the early 90's. The wheels are aftermarket aluminum wheels. All the glass is clear and haze free with no chips or cracks. The outside is 99% complete only needing some stainless trim. All the panels appear to be original and for the most part are solid except for the rear qtr mentioned. We cut some of the vinyl top away in that area and there is some rust there too. If you're good with bondo it could be fixed, however, a full quarter would be the way to go. Car has been sitting for some time and last was on the road in 1996. The previous owner did replace the dash with a 150 mph speedometer. All the gauges seemed to work and there are some aftermarket gauges too. The door panels are original and in decent shape. The rug was cut out to show the floors solidness. Front seats need attention but were reupholstered at one time. The back seats are original. The interior does need attention but all the parts are readily available. Please let us know of any questions you may have. Drivetrain: Originally a small block v8 car, which currently has a 440 big block in its place. The motor was built/rebuilt in 1991 with high performance parts including a Krane high performance cam. It has a Holley dual feed carburetor with an aluminum intake and headers. Built in 1991, not driven since 1996. When we acquired the car we changed the battery(new), and plugs and put fresh gas in it and if fired up and sounded really good. No smoke, taps or knocks. The carburetor will need rebuild/replacing but its a great start. The transmission is a rebuilt 727 torque flight with a posi 4:11 rear. The car was obviously built for power. Last owner stated it ran low 12's in a qtr mile. Please keep in mind that it hasn't been on the road in over 15 years so you'll have to make it road worthy before making any kind of trip with it.
