For Sale is a 40+MPG , 2005 Jetta GLS Turbo Diesel with 206,533 miles on the odometer. The engine was replaced 5 months ago with a Salvage Engine with 134,000 miles on it. This vehicle runs good, passed inspection 5 months ago BUT THE TRANSMISSION DOESN'T ALWAYS ENGAGE IN REVERSE, IT HAS AN INTERMITTENT REVERSE GEAR PROBLEM.. Important facts about this vehicle: Clean Title and Clear Car Fax report. This car has a solid engine that was installed in March 2012, it is a used engine that I bought from a Canadian Salvage Yard with about 134,000 miles. Engine runs good. Shortly after the engine was installed I noticed fluid leaking from the transmission, shortly there after I began to feel a slight vibration coming from the transmission which led to the reverse failing to engage from time to time. Basically the reverse gear will not engage after the car has been sitting for a little while. All the other gears work fine but the reverse just fails regularly, this car will likely need either transmission work to get the leak and the reverse gear fixed or a new transmission. This is vehicle is in fair condition on the outside, the driver's front fender was replaced by the previous owner but no major repairs were reported on the Car Fax Report, paint is ok as seen on the pictures. The interior is ok, has pretty good wear in some areas, the drivers seat in front has a pretty good size wear spot as seen on the pictures. The car has potential with some additional work and TLC. It has 18" chrome wheels that make the car look pretty special, unfortunately one of the chrome wheels was bent on the inner side when my went over a sidewalk, I was told it can be repaired though. The key for the car likely needs a new battery as it will not open the car remotely, I am told this is very common with VW's.
