Vehicle Detail
No reserve. This car is not running at this time. 280SE European model. 3.5 liter V8 engine, [used in the US for the coupe and convertible]. I bought this classic car on eBay a few weeks ago from someone who didn't disclose that the V8 engine required major work, [because the car is older than 10 years - eBay's Vehicle Protection Program does not offer me a solution]. The right bank of this engine has poor compression [25-30]. The left bank is fine. My mechanic says that it may only need a valve job - but... we are unsure. This car requires engine work. The cloth interior is in less-than-stellar shape and seems to be missing [or damaged] one or two kicker/door panels. The headliner is not entirely clean. The diver's door occasionally doesn't latch properly. The brakes need to be re-worked [previous owner claimed a fresh master cylinder was needed]. The previous owner had the car under a tree that has left some residue on the top and trunk [I have not tried to remove this yet - and do not know if it has affected the paint]. The good news is that [it is my opinion] the chassis, suspension and exterior body panels are in decent shape with only very minimal surface rust. Chrome is good. Sun roof is good. Pictures tell the real story. Please ask any questions. The car has great potential in my opinion. Car is now located on Cape Cod. Sold as is, where is with no warranties or representations.Caveat Emptor. I cannot guarantee it, but will let you be the judge. Thanks
