1955 FORD THUNDERBIRD. Up for auction is a handsome looking 1955 T-Bird. This car retains it's original/period look, and the car is overall in good condition. The cowl tag is present on the firewall (P5FM227505- 40A T C24 FH 0882).The engine is stock and possibly original, it starts easily, runs smooth, cool, and sounds quiet. The car has a modern Ford alternator, otherwise it seems to be in it's original configuration. The automatic transmission shifts well, and the car brakes well too. The speedometer, tachometer, temperature, and fuel gauges all work. The wipers work, the heater blower motor works, the clock does not. The body looks to be very straight, possibly an older restoration. There are no signs of the car having any prior collision damage, the floors look to have been replaced at some time using correct factory panels. The paint is nice driver/local amature show quality, there are some small chips and cracks (see pics). The chrome on the car overall is in excellent condition, only a couple of chrome items around the edge of the windshield, and front widow posts are blemished or have pitting...as is the chromed part of the steering column. The weather striping on the car seems to have all been replaced and is is excellent condition, the trunk seal still needs to be compressed/adjusted. The interior is also in very good condition, and the soft top is in like new condition (sorry, no hardtop). The wheels and hubcaps are stock, and the car has a vintage set of Polyester wide white wall tires. If the car sits unused, the transmission fluid does leak...however, we have noticed when it is started periodically, the leak is a lot less. This car need someone who can use the car and enjoy it, it has been sitting unused for a while.
