Retired racing engine builder and sprint car / fuel dragster owner driver. Selling my street car hot rod. 81 Corvette I stripped down pulling all the A/C - Heater and most of the components from the car. Pulled the power steering off but still drives good. No spare / no wires under the dash except what's needed to run the turn signals and brake lights. Has oil pressure and temp gauges from race car (AutoMeter). No carpets under the seats. I have more interior photos, just email and I will send them. Taking out everything that adds weight and slows the car down to get it as light a possible. Left the vette seats. Then installed a 383 small block Chevy. The 383 has a 4 bolt main .030 over block with a Callies ultalight 42 pound 4340 crank and matching 6 inch H beam rods with Keith Black Signature serise Forged light .125 domed pistons and moly rings. King racing cam / rod and main bearings. ARP Main and head studs. ProComp aluminum high flowing heads with a CompCams 600 plus high lift solid roller cam and shaft rockers. CompCams timing set that has been degreed. Aluminum valve covers, high flowing aluminum intake with a 1150 style 750 Demon Carb. MSD hot coil and distributor. 8 quart Champ racing oil pan and high volume oil pump. Electric cooling fan for raditor and no waterpump fan. Headers with short pipes and 3 inch glass packs. I rebuilt the 350 Turbo with racing clutches and a 3500 stall converter. Billet Aluminum posi rear end with short drive shafts for axels. New ujoints in the 2 foot drive shaft. Stainless brake callipers, new ball joints and bushings. I drive it to the Post Office and down mainstreet just to have a little fun and blow the mustangs or anything else away. When you pull up beside a fast car, you don't worry about winning the short stop sign drag race, your concern is keeping the vette under control. It's wild. I have put about 100 miles on the car after installing the all brand new 383. It is the fastest car in my county. I don't know how fast it will go, I have not run it faster than 80 or 90 miles an hour but it will get there super fast. When it shifts out of 2nd into 3rd, time to shut down. Going to fast for the highway. Tries to pull the front wheels up. The windshield broke down the left side out of my viewing one afternoon when I stood on it after the vette was rolling over 20 mph and through the burnout I saw the crack out of the corner of my eye go dash to roof. Needs a special seal for a new one that will flex. The body will need paint to be sharp but it only has 3 slight repairs needed before paint. The glass T-Tops are the best on vettes. They are tinted setting inside looking out, but on the outside looking in they appear chrome and realy look sharp.
