For your consideration, my 1957 Chevy 2 door sedan. I have owned this car since June of 1998 (over 14 years). This car was built in the Van Nuys, California plant and was purchased through Ernie Porter Chevrolet, Pasadena. I am the third owner. The second owner kept it for approximately 10 years. He installed the A/C, Muncie M22 4 spd, power disc brakes and belair exterior trim pieces. I have added the Belair interior with Dynomat insulation,tinted windows, panasonic CD player with remote control,kick panel speakers, Cragar S/S wheels, Edelbrock performer intake and 600cfm carb, Doug Thorley Headers with JetHot ceramic coating, 2 3/4 inch exhaust with Spintech chambered mufflers and Xpipe crossover. I have also added some chrome detail parts in the engine bay including waterpump, Corvette valve covers,brackets and caps. This car lived it's entire life until July of 2003 in southern California. I retired to Georgia at that time and DROVE it cross country to it's new home. This is not a trailer queen. It had 57,000 miles on it when I bought it, and I have added 42,000 miles to that. I have lovingly maitained it, but I have not babied it, and it is not perfect. The AM radio, dash clock and cigarette lighter do not work. The fuel guage sending unit has stopped working due to the 10% ethanol in the gas. The driver's window doesn't roll smoothly but has not gotten worse in 14 years. the interior light does not turn on when you open the driver's door. I have not installed the manual choke lever though I have not had trouble starting the car in the mild climate where I live. The carb has been on the car since 1999. I am missing the left rear passenger arm rest ash tray. All lights work but right turn signal does not self cancel. Wipers work. The paint on this car is over thirty years old and has chips, scratches and age spots. There are some bubbles where the seams are leaded. The paint on dash, firewall and trunk is original. There is no rust. This car has never been wrecked. The photos were taken Oct11, 2012. Judge for yourself, (and yes, one photo was taken at 70 mph)! This engine runs well with no knocks or unusual noises. It does not smoke or use oil. I have only used Mobil 1 and I change it every 3,000 to 5,000 miles. The prior owner said the engine is original but I have not verified that. The A/C blows cold and the heater will blow hot when you put in a 195 degree thermostat for winter driving. The power brakes function as they should and stop better than any 57 off the assembly line. The M 22 shifts smoothly. The car is mechanicly sound, and I drive it frequently though I do try to avoid rain. I have set the reserve at $17,500.00. That is not the "buy it now" price, only a starting point.
