Vehicle Detail
1978 Pontiac Trans Am (*This car can not be driven home! Needs restoration, but is a great candidate for restoration. *) * Note : I saw the AutoCheck has no history of vehicle. Vehicle has not been registered since 2002. Not sure if this is the issue. VIN is correct- I do have title here , clear with matching VIN* My husband purchased this car for me 3 years ago, thinking we would have time to get around to restoring it. Well business has picked up and we are no longer able to have the time for it. This car does not have a long history on the road(low mileage on body), I can tell you what I know about it story wise , if requested. This is a Norwood, Ohio plant car. The Title is free and clear and in hand. INFORMATION AS FOLLOWS: (This car did drive and run , when we purchased it but was in need of new tires , so was not driven home. Since then the car has sat on driveway covered and non covered and the fuel lines are rusted out and are not allowing fuel to carb. (will start with Ether) Transmission is leaking fluid so the car has not been driven since fuel line and transmission happened. ) The interior and seats are not horrible, the door panels are however. Head liner is/was missing. All parts are in car. A/c is gone. The frame appears in good shape and not rusted out. Has original wheels. Glass is in good shape Trims in good shape. The body/ metal it self is NOT bad. Body notes : Wheel lips are rusted as normal. (appears light bodywork was done to wheel lips years go) Rest of body is in great shape to be restored. Doors, hood, shaker, roof, quarters all appear to be good. Paint has thinned alot , so it is more transparent. The engine in this is not numbers matching or even the correct engine for this. We bought it and did not dig into for a couple years. We discover it was replaced at some point. It does HAVE a Pontiac motor 301 in it. The heads are correct for the 301, I believe.( 65 heads). THIS is a 400 car, but does not have a 400. I do believe the transmission is original. *please note, any questions , please ask before bid.
