Vehicle Detail
* Footnote/update added below* Here's a real nice, no rust California Suburban 3/4 ton 4x4 with 125,434 original miles on it. Drives fantastic. Excellent running 454 engine and very smooth 4 speed auto transmission with overdrive. No leaks, no drips, no smoke, no steam. Burns no oil and does not lose any water. Vacuum test reads perfect at 19---19.2hg's at idle. Front brake pads replaced when I bought her, rear shoes are still in great shape. Manual transfer case shift lever located on the floor, and the front drive system (4x4) works great. Has air conditioning but the system needs a recharge (compressor pump is fine though). Power seats, windows & mirrors all work good. Pretty nice, shiny black paint & nice gray cloth interior with no tears. Just be aware that though the exterior paint looks pretty damn good, the previous owner neglected to have the door edges or door jambs painted at the same time, so they're still white. It doesn't bother us at all, but it may bother you. But with maybe half days work you could paint them black to match----but that's your call.. Anyways she also has a heavy duty tow package with Tekonsha electronic brake controller. Nice, bright GM rims, front tires have maybe 5000 miles left on them, but the rear tires (All Country Radial LXT's, 265-75-16's) are in real good shape with around 80%+ tread remaining. New Monroe shocks on all four corners. Front alignment is near perfect. Has keyless/remote locks and a great programable alarm system Has a very nice sounding Pioneer DEH-P4100UB stereo system w/remote, 8 speakers, an Alpine 5970 6 disc cd changer w/remote and a Performance Teknique ICBM-775 500 watt amplifier. The Alpine has two separate cd cases, so you can have twelve cd's loaded in two cartridges at one time. Comes with a window sunshade and the GM factory owners manual. All in all this is a great truck and I'd conservatively rate the body and the interior an 8.5, and the drive train a 9---we're only selling it because the daughter and I bought an old International Scout to make a family project out of. I bought this truck last Christmas and moved to Florida. Came back here to California last month. The registration/tags died in December of last year, but I obviously have the pink slip for it---just never put it in my name, either here in California or in Florida. For you 49 state people that should be absolutely no problem. But for you California residents, be prepared that depending on what purchase price you tell the DMV, your transfer, registration & late fees will be around $320.00. But we'll pay for and supply a new smog certificate for you. You can also go to the DMV website and go to their Fee Calculator menu and punch in your numbers to get a more accurate idea of what you'll be looking at. This truck is basically ready to gas up and go right now and I would not hesitate one moment to drive it cross country once again, though I would change the oil & filter within the next 400 miles (we change the oil on all of our vehicles no later than at 2700 miles). I would also purchase & install a new set of 9mm plug wires on her ($55.00 @ Summit Racing?), as the existing set is getting a bit long in the tooth, but the plugs themselves are all good at the moment. The only other items we should mention is that there is no rear 3rd seat, and that the drivers seat hinge on the left hand side is broken----which is why we have the driver's side rear seat folded forward, to support it. The previous owner explained to me that it's simply a matter of buying a $25.00 hinge, and then getting to it, behind the upholstery. But I honestly don't know, 'cuz the seat fits me perfectly just where it is, and I never got into this project. Anyways that's about all we can tell you at the moment, but if you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Thanx for looking. *I just double checked the front seat for one of our Ebay members here a while ago, and found out that it is NOT the left hand driver's seat hinge that is broken, but it's actually the metal plate that attaches the front left corner of the seat to the front left side of the floor base/track. So what does this mean? It means that since my wife's '96 Suburban had the exact same issue last year, I already know how to fix this issue...and will do so tomorrow. Just thought I'd let you all know...*
