Spun a bearing in the Subaru. Can't afford to rebuild her. The check engine light came on while driving normally, the motor started pinging gently, I coasted the car to a stop. Tried starting it twice, it will start but barely - sounds very rough - and I didn't want to risk further damage by pushing it. Will most likely need a new short block. I have not cracked the motor open to take a look as I cannot afford to rebuild this car at this point. 78,000 miles on the chassis, 6 speed tranny has 30,000 miles on it, 4 pot/2pots + pads + calipers + fluid are new. No rust on the body. Very clean, car was done right, no cheap Chinese parts touched this car nor was there an idiot driver behind the wheel dropping the clutch and beating on it. This was my daily driver.
