This is a heavy duty 5-speed that provides an enormous improvement in drivability and durability over the stock Doug Nash 4+3 that came in early C4s. This transmission will live just fine with 500 lb-ft or torque, so it's ready for whatever Small Block you want to bolt to it. It will provide years of trouble-free cruising without the complexity and maintenence issues of the 4+3's planetary overdrive unit.
