1996 Toyota Land Cruiser FZJ80, 126,000 miles Sorry for the long description, but I am very thorough and passionate about Cruisers. This is the NICEST 80 series Land Cruiser I have seen. This truck is immaculate and was very well-maintained. It is a 1 owner, southern vehicle purchased in Georgia and serviced at the same dealer since new. It has absolutely NO RUST at all. It has had no paint or bodywork. The Cruiser drives, accelerates, handles, stops and rides beautifully. There are no squeaks, rattles or funny noises. It does not smoke/burn oil at all, no check engine lights or warning lights of any kind. The interior is in EXCELLENT condition, and even has that 80 smell, if you know what I mean. Never smoked in. It is 100% stock, original, and complete. Vehicle includes 3 keys with remotes, owners manuals in original red Toyota case, full toolkit and jack, and even the factory cargo net, unopened. The previous owner was an officer in the Marines, and he took VERY good car of this Cruiser. He went so far as to affix pieces of tape on the door jam indicating the date of last oil change ("oil delta @123.1k") and the dates that he waxed the truck, which are still there. He even attached an air hose extension on the spare tire (a Michelin LTX, of course) in order to monitor the pressure in the spare without having to lower the tire, I assume. He also wrote the correct torque for the lug nuts, in foot pounds on the inside of each center cap. I think it’s safe to say he was a proper Land Cruiser owner. This Land Cruiser was sold with every single available option, literally. It was the TRUE definition of “loaded”. That term is totally overused when it comes to car descriptions, this Cruiser is worthy of it. This Cruiser was sold with the front brushguard, bug deflector, sunroof visor, rear wind deflector, pin stripe, Gold emblem package, Chrome package (a very rare option only available on 96 model Black Cruisers and only available for a few months) roof rack, running boards, towing package, wood grain interior trim, factory Toyota alarm, and of course, the all-important front and rear locking differentials (the only one anybody really cares about). I tested the lockers and they both engage and disengage properly. I removed the brushguard, bug shield, pin stripe and gold emblems and replaced with chrome. Buyer can have the brushguard if he wants it. This particular Cruiser also had several humorous bumper stickers on the rear bumper which I reluctantly removed, so as not to offend Rosie O’Donnell in case she were interested in it. The CARFAX shows all the maintenance that was done at the dealer, including the full 90k service, (coolant flush, drive belts, spark plugs, etc…) new battery, lots of oil changes, brakes, AC system serviced, etc…The carfax shows an accident involving rear impact with slight damage, but, I repeat there was no damage done, and no paintwork or body work done to this Cruiser anywhere, other than a few touchups on rock chips/scratches. Everything works on this Cruiser including the power seats, power antenna, windows, locks, AC, radio, etc…. The leather is in excellent condition. It is actually quite amazing how good the leather looks in this one. It looks to be original, it MAY have been dyed at some point, but I cant be sure, because it looks so good, with some slight wear that leads me to believe its the original leather. No stains or abnormal wear in the carpet, anywhere, at all. Woodgrain trim is fading, but still in really good condition considering its age. I am pretty sure this vehicle was garaged considering its overall condition. Tires are Michelin LTX M/S (nitrogen filled) in great shape with 50k miles left, at least. The truck has just been professionally buffed, waxed, polished and I Lexol cleaned and conditioned the leather.I did not wash or clean the engine bay or the under carriage in order to show its actual condition. -----The valve cover gasket needs to be replaced, as it leaks a little oil towards the rear, and drips a few drops underneath. This a very minor repair and I may do it myself by the time it sells. There are a few spots and scuffs on the driver side front fender flare, hardly noticeable, but I felt it worth mentioning. I had a paint pro touch them up. I tried to take pictures of it but it just doesn’t show up, almost invisible unless you look very close, and from the right angle. The plastic rear end cap on the passenger side running board is a little cracked and crooked, hardly noticeable. The rubber trim inbetween the fenders and flares is cracking and coming off in a couple of places, see pic. There are 2 dents on the hood, from where someone left a wrench sitting on top of the battery and dropped the hood, see pic, very minor.---- Other than that, there is nothing else to report as far as flaws in the vehicle.
