Truck was bought at a estate sale. The guy restored ford trucks and cars. he knew what he was doing. Truck really turns heads and has a nice factory look. This 1954 Ford F-100 is a great early example of Ford’s signature product. It’s a simple, well-built truck that can haul a load on the farm or handle city streets. It never feels too big or cumbersome, but it’s up for any task that you throw at it. The truck had just passed inspection by original owner. everything works on truck as should from blinkers to lights and everything else. The frame is in great shape. The body is in good shape too, but there are some sand scrathes when it was repainted underneath paint. As it sits, the truck has great character and presence, and I like the paint the way it is. The 223cid “Mileage Maker” straight six engine starts well every time and automatic transmission shifts great. The engine is three years newer than the truck and was, so the drivetrain is not all original, but it performs better than the original and is still period-correct. Enigine was redone as well as all front end parts replaced. This truck drives not good but great. It has the air which blows ice cold. Tires on the truck are brand new. it will be hard to find one that drives any better. The interior of the cab is in great shape. The seat is comfortable and provides a good driving position. The original gauges are intact and operational. This is the perfect ruck to get in and cruise it runs and drives great handle perfect. These trucks are always good “resto-mod” or hotrod candidates, just add wheels and bid v8 motor. I believe that this one is clean enough that it should be kept original used as-is. The flathead V8s are great engines for these trucks, but the inline six is plenty of engine for a half-ton. It’s simple, reliable and fun—just what we like to see in a classic pickup.
