1965 Ford Galaxie 500 Convertible 289ci V-8 Engine 3 Speed Auto Trans Power Top Up for sale is this 1965 Ford Galaxie two-door convertible. This car is powered by a 289 cubic inch V-8 engine mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission. The car features a red exterior and red interior. The white convertible top is in excellent condition and is power-operated; the top goes up and down as it should and stores neatly. There is a removable cover for the top that snaps into place when driving with the top down. The current owner has owned the car for the past 20 years, and the vehicle has been well maintained. All of the lights, signals, wipers, and horn work as they should. As previously mentioned, the power-operated convertible top works well. The dash-mounted clock has stopped working. The car starts quickly and idles well. A quick test drive revealed no strange handling quirks. The engine is a bit cold-blooded and does stumble a bit coming off idle; this could be a minor carburation problem or perhaps the old gas in the tank is the culprit. The engine feels strong and the transmission seems to shift as it should. The engine and trans are not original. The odometer shows 4,500 miles, this reading does not reflect the actual mileage. The paint is exterior paint is shiny, but there is the occasional chip as well as some swirls. The windshield has a small chip in the glass. The interior seats are in excellent condition.
