Vehicle Detail
cutlass 1974 Oldsmobile Rocket 350 Cutlass Supreme Coupe New Motor, Body & Paint Bucket Seats & New Tires & Battery 139,000 miles from factory 400 miles on rebuilt Rocket 35o V-8 400 miles on rebuilt body & paint to factory original 3rd Owner for 20 years Good glass, interior & chrome bumpers New door hinge pins Produced from 1968 through 1980, the Rocket 350 was entirely different from the other GM divisions' 350's. It used a 4.057 in bore and Oldsmobile small-block standard 3.385 in stroke for 350 cubic inches (5.7 L). 1968-1974 350s were painted gold; 1975-1976 350s were metallic blue like the 455; 1977-1980 models were painted GM Corporate Blue. The "Rocket" name disappeared from the air cleaner decal in 1975, the same year that the catalytic converter was added to the emission control systems. Output ranged from 160 to 325 hp. The early Oldsmobile 350s made from 1968 thru 1976 are more desirable engines with heavy castings, beefier crankshafts, and better flowing heads. The later 1977 thru 1980 350 had the "lightweight" castings, including a thinner block with large "windows" in the main bearing bulkheads, crack-prone head castings which were actually manufactured by Pontiac Motor Division(castings are marked "PMD"; these heads were also used on the 260), and a lightened crankshaft. This earlier Rocket is the more desirable engine manufactured with the heavier castings, beefier crankshafts and better flowing heads. Original cam has been upgraded to a new, higher performance model. Original factory paint matching wheels with chrome hub and lug nut covers Original Quadrajet carburetor rebuilt and tuned like new, Pre-electronic ignition points and condenser distributor ignition. Engine starts and runs perfect, automatic transmission shifts fine. Vent fan motor fine, wipers work as should, have original AM radio to be re-installed prior to sale. Imperfections: Small dent in top of rear trunk lid, chipped paint spot rear left (see photo 5), new brake master cylinder needed, AC uncharged now yet worked A-OK for years, needs one new headlamp. A real smooth running yet seriously capable Rocket 350 powered classic ride. Sold as-is; please write for more info and/or visit to inspect in-person. Local pick up only, any shipping is at your expense. Full amount is due within 7 days of auction close by cash or certified check only. Serious bidders only please and ask questions if uncertain about anything. Thanks for your interest!
