Vehicle Detail
This truck was completely redone by ATD in 2004 at a cost of $19,000.00, not including the price of the truck. This was a specialty shop, in Portland OR, owned by the late Dick Guthrie dealing with exotic cars. All mechanicals were rebuilt or improved. A remanufactured long block 300 ci 6, by Larson and King was modified by adding a Clifford (6=8) intake manifold, exhaust headers and valve cover. A Crower cam, MSD electronic ignition, and 4 barrel Edelbrock carburetor were also used. A rebuilt C6 transmission replaced the old manual. Radiator was recored and electric fans added. A new Dana 60 rear end along with new brakes, cylinders and wheel bearings installed. I was building a reliable, strong farm truck. I did not want a hot rod, just a fun truck we could use around the hobby horse farm. All records, costs and photos taken during the rebuild are available. Since then that truck probably has no more than three thousand miles on it at most. The original AM radio still works and it is a kick to drive. The body is in fantastic shape for its age. The truck could easily be converted into a regular pickup truck. Just needs some cosmetic TLC as all the mechanicals are nearly new.
