2006 Suzuki Forenza project car. 30 MPG highway. Clean body, no big damage....a few scratches and parking lot dings as would be expected with an 82,000 mile car. Interior decent for mileage...AC blows cold, all power windows work, all glass in good shape. Tires all good, less than 10,000 miles on all of them. Plugs and ignition coil replaced recently, as were the rear strut assemblies ($600 for the pair, installed). Trans is fine, front end goes in a straight line. THE BAD STUFF: Car overheated, probably due to bad water pump, getting small amount of steam out the tailpipe...I assume this is a bad head gasket...so figure both these items need replacing. Car starts and runs OK, but cannot be driven any distance, so figure on towing it away....will run several minutes without overheating for loading onto trailer or dolly. Cooling fans kick on, but if pump is bad only the water in the radiator gets cooled, not the water in the block. ONCE AGAIN, YOU CANNOT DRIVE THIS CAR HOME, EVEN THOUGH IT SEEMS TO RUN OK....CAR WILL OVERHEAT AND MAKE PROBLEMS WORSE....REPAIRABLE NOW, BUT IT WON'T BE IF YOU TRY TO DRIVE IT ANY DISTANCE. Also needs a battery, but will still take a jump. Radio display not working, but radio works on both AM and FM...you just have to search for a ststion. A complete water pump set including new idlers, belt tensioner and timing belt can be had for about $200, and a full gasket set is available for a little over 30 bucks. If you have time and tools, this is a cheap repair that will leave you with a solid, no-rust car that is cheap to run and insure, with plenty of good life left in it.
