1967 Ford Ranchero Unlike a pickup truck, the Ranchero was adapted from a station wagon platform that integrated the cab and cargo bed into the body, a formula which proved popular with over 500,000 units produced during the model's production run. The truck offered is a one family owned from new example. Owned by a gentleman in northern California from new the truck was well maintained and cared for until he unfortunately passed away, leaving it to his son, who drove it for many years until he sold it to a local mechanic earlier this year. Since then, the car has had a sympathetic mechanical restoration. The original 289ci V8 was in very good condition, so there was no need at all for attention there. The clutch is excellent and connects the motor to the 4-speed top loader transmission. The truck was treated to a full service and the installation of a fuel pump, starter motor, battery, etc. The brakes were given a complete overhaul including master cylinder repair. The result is a truck that runs perfectly, starts easily, and has good, responsive power. The interior on the truck is good. Door panels, headliner and seat surfaces are very good, but for a small tear in the drivers side of the seat, the size of a nickel. Carpet is OK, but for a few stains. The original paint was a little dead, but instead of a good detail/colour sand and polish, a few years ago, it was treated to a poor quality repaint in the original burgundy colour. That is now peeling quite badly and can be removed with a fingernail. Wheels are new and brightwork is good. The removed trim comes with the truck . This is a generally very solid truck, to drive anywhere and enjoy, or restore or hotrod.
