It was a lease vehicle and company car for a woman who got it new. At the end of her lease, she bought it out from the company and has driven it since then. At the time, she worked for Hershey foods, hence the black. The fact that they had the car 12 years and bought another black Taurus says a lot about their time with the car. We've had it through the shop, serviced and detailed it and it needs nothing to get it in and drive. This is good transportation for inexpensive money. The price is pretty firm, just so you know. exterior The paint and body on this car are original. It has decent gloss and has been waxed. There's no body rust, hail, or obvious damage at all. It's a 12 year old black Ford and not new, but it looks presentable. The wheels are ok and tires have pretty good tread all the way around. They shouldn't need replacing for a while yet. The windshield is brand new. The doors all open and close easily and trunk pop still works fine. The history reports read clean, no accidents, and this car hasn't seen road salt. The car has the paint lacquer checked pretty good on the hood and to some degree the roof. The front bumper has seen a lot of freeway mileage and also has a few scuffs. There's some nicks about the body, scratches on the rear bumper and a couple other little marks. It looks good for the age and mileage, we just don't want you to think it's a new car. interior The interior is pretty clean. It's never been smoked in, lighter is still new. The upholstery is good, no rips or bad stains. The dash, doors, headliner, carpet, all pretty decent. This is a hard to find 6-passenger configuration. Many '99s had the consul shift, this one has a flip over seat and column shift. The power accessories all work, stereo sounds fine, and air blows cold. mechanical This car runs out very well and was driven daily since 2000. It fires up, idles smooth, no odd noises, or problems. It's been through our shop, received a new 02 sensor, new oil and filter and a quick once over. It has a little seepage around the motor, nothing wet and drippy, but a little seepage like anything used. The brake pad life is fine and it drives, shifts, and tracks well. It's easy to drive. These cars are safe, decent in the snow, and get surprisingly good fuel economy. If you're shopping for a younger person this is a pretty good choice, should be something you can put them in and feel safe, and also not have to hear about it.
