Vehicle Detail

A LITTLE PIECE OF HISTORY FOR SALE: 1956 TRIUMPH T-110 650 cc DESERT SLED ~ all original parts! I replaced the inner-tube sleeves on the front forks (the ones on bike were beyond deteriorated), I mounted it's number panel back on, I cleaned the motor with a toothbrush and WD-40 for two days. I fixed the flat and replaced tube. It doesn't run yet, but I am VERY close (I've got spark!)The skid plate has "PRECIOUS" welded into it; believe it was orig from SO CAL motorcycle shop (see decal). I purchased this bike from a friend that is in ailing health and is no longer ambulatory (sad story). This bike was part of his estate and is super cool; she's seen a few races in her life and will be putting again real soon. This bike is all original, worth restoration or just leave as is. It is a part of California history and dirt tracking. This bike is in incredible shape for its years. Been sitting in a climate controlled environment for many years. Back in the day, stock models were advertised as 42 hp and would go 120 mph with its 40 cu. inch OHV. The paint is still VERY decent. I have noticed several trick things on this bike and take a look at the two colored grips and leather snap sleeve. This is one of the coolest antique motorcycle I have ever seen. This is the opportunity to own the coolest piece of history. SEE PICS OF ENGINE NUMBERS & more in PHOTOS...lots of photos All calls confidential. Buyer pays for transportation or pickup. WORST CASE SCENARIO, A BILL OF SALE WILL BE PROVIDED TO BUYER. AILMENTS INCLUDE DEMENTIA. BIKE WAS SOLD TO HELP PAY FOR HIS 24 HR. CARE. On Jul-12-12 at 23:11:56 PDT, seller added the following information: BIKE OWNERSHIP HISTORY: This information is not being provided as a selling point, just interesting facts. This bike was acquired by the previous owner in a trade of sorts from his now deceased dear friend AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Inductee, Nick Nicholson. From what I understand is there was a borrowed saw or drill that was loaned to Nick for some household repairs. He returned the electric hand tool to his lifelong buddy and then gave him this motorcycle. This seemed strange at the time but when the hand tool stopped working shortly thereafter, it was apparent that the bike was more of a trade than a gift. I still won't tell you who the previous owner was but he became very skilled hanging out in Nick's shop in CA nearly daily for most of his adolescent life. Nick Nicholson was very charitable to dear friends; never ceasing to encourage, train and mentor students and adults alike. They were friends until Nick's untimely death.
