Vehicle Detail
2005 Honda CBR600RR The middleweight class is the core of the motorcycle industry and as such, is fiercely competitive. Every year, each manufacturer makes great leaps in technology dragged from the racetrack testbed, but 2005 marked a pivotal year. Hondas inimitable CBR600RR received a 41mm inverted fork for the first time. It replaced the previous CBR's 45mm conventional sliders. Despite the smaller-diameter stanchions, an upside-down fork is more resistant to flex than a slightly thicker conventional fork. And so the bike was transformed. Honda also exchanged its 4-piston caliper front brakes for higher-spec radial-mount units, from Tokico. There’s Nissin at the rear. Smaller intake ports increase intake velocities that result in stronger midrange power, addressing one of our biggest complaints about the 2003-04 models. Honda also put the CBR on a diet, trimming fat off every corner for a 22 pound lighter bike. The bike offered is a 1 owner from new, exquisite example with only 5400 miles from new. Completely unmolested apart from the relocation of the license plate, the bike is owned by a mature and meticulous enthusiast. The bike has never been crashed, tracked or thrashed and it shows. The only blemish is a small crack in the lower fairing where the bike fell in the garage. The engine is in fine tune, with the full feel of the 105bhp. The 6-speed transmission is smooth, clutch is excellent. Brakes, steering and suspension are all in perfect working order, as is all electrical. Used sparingly for the occasional Sunday blast up PCH, the bike is in excellent condition both mechanically and cosmetically. Standard sized tires are excellent as can be seen in the photos: 120/70ZR-17 up front, and 180/55ZR-17 ‘round the back. Here is a great opportunity to own one of Honda’s greats with impeccable ownership history and desirable mileage.
