Vehicle Detail
1976 Suzuki GT500A two stroke street bike. Watch it run here: My GT500 on Youtube The good: Excellent original chrome New coil Dyna DC1-1 3 ohm New tires Front: 100/90-19 Rear 110/90-18 (bike still had original ones on it) Aftermarket petcock adapter plate and petcock New Seatcover (work done by local upholstery shop)Carbs cleaned and re-jetted for pod air filters Working gaugesNew aftermarket turn signalsNew batteryOriginal key includedNo road rashNew Chain Oil injection system works great and oil tank in good shape Currently titled, registered, and street legal in the state of MontanaHas spent life in dry high mountain desert climate of Helena MontanaIncludes shop manual with GT500 tech bulletin The not so good: Not original turn signals (plastic aftermarket from ebay)Missing sidecover Gauges had been previously disassembled and reassembled due to broken glass and faded lettering. Have new glass and work but are not in showroom new condition. Bike was never ran without them assembled so can only assume it is original mileage. Original airbox included but rubber boot is hard and needs replacedOriginal coils included but cracked and unusableCurrent aftermarket petcock has slight leak so lawn mower petcock installed inline as fail safe. Original petcock included but needs complete rebuild.Tank has good sized dent on left side, small dents and scratches throughout, surface rust on inside, cap needs adjusment and new sealSmall chip out of tail lightTurn signal flasher not functioningLeaks about a drop of crankcase oil per weekLeft mirror is missing the glass I bought this bike a little over a year ago. It was mostly disassembled so my goal was to get it running and ride it a bit. Have since put about 250 miles on it just putting around town. Not sure if it is common on these, but going from 4th to 5th you have to make sure you are firm or else it will miss. I would not trust it as an over the road bike but have done a couple 40 mile runs without issue. That said i have had it up over 85. It ran out nice but was a bit white knuckle. This bike is best seen as a good start to a complete restoration project or a nice donor bike. It is hard to find these with clean and clear titles. Please look closely at the pictures and ask questions. If you are in the Helena area, you are welcome to take a look at it. Thanks!
