1979 Honda Gold Wing

I have here an all original 1979 Honda Gl1000 Gold Wing. I bought this bike from the 2nd owner who had it for about 10 years and only put a couple hundred miles on it. He had purchased it from a friend of his from Chicago who was the original owner. This bike has only 1,921 miles on it and is in factory showroom condition. It had been stored in the owners garage covered and with the all weight off of the suspension and tires. (He had it hanging from the rafters with straps) The tires are original and still have some of the little rubber nubs on them as well as the paint mark through the tread. They are not cracked to speak of. All of the chrome and paint are practically flawless. There is one small chip on the left side tank cover and it will probably be very hard to even see in the pictures. The engine, frame and wheels are super clean and free from defects. Another thing that makes this bike unique is that it still has stickers and a keychain from ACE Cycle World in Chicago. The bike also has a "break-in maintainence" sticker still on the speedometer. All of the saftey and maintainence stickers from Honda are still in great shape and all there. The bike does run but smokes upon startup. I'm guessing that the valve seals may be dried out from sitting around most of its life. Otherwise it runs well. The only thing I have done to the machine is change the oil and clean it up. The gentleman I bought it from is a retired upholstery man so he put it different custom seat on it as well as a luggage rack and sissy bar. He gave me the original seat and rear grab bar too which are also in immaculate condition and had been stored in a plastic bag. I bought the bike because the owner was cleaning out his barn and decided he was "too old" to ride anymore. I already have a bike to ride and feel that this one is really too nice for someone to start racking a bunch of miles onto. It belongs in the hands of a collector or someone who will appreciate this one-of-a-kind piece of history.
