This auction is for a 1959 Edsel Corsair Convertible. 1959 is said by some to be the best year, these cars were only produced from 1958 to early 1960. The Edsel was a make of automobile manufactured by the Ford Motor Company during the 1958, 1959, and 1960 model years. The car brand is best known as one of the most spectacular failures in the history of the United States automobile industry. It’s in great condition throughout! All the mechanics work properly, looks great and is fun to drive! 2012 Now may be the time to pick up a '59 Edsel, while they remain at "bargain" prices, quoted from the Edsel Price Trend Analysis. This very rare Corsair convertible is in nice original condition everywhere you look with only one repaint to the original color. Total production was only 1343 for the ‘59 Corsair Convertible model year and is a very rare to find one for sale, let alone one that is in the original condition this one is, this car may be the one you can own at a great price. The best part it is covered in the correct factory color of Mist Green with White top and factory code 42 Black vinyl bolsters with Silver and white vinyl inserts. The miles on the odometer show 34,781 and is believed to be original to the car, but will be sold exempt because of its age. The engine bay is original, the paint is nice as is every piece of chrome and stainless. Turn over the 332 V-8 engine and quite rumble from the exhausts hits a sweet tune. Driving it, you will appreciate the ride and handling characteristics. The optional 2-speed auto transmission shifts smoothly, the brakes stop the car quickly and securely. It’s is a blast to drive! The body is in nice condition. The metal is clean and straight with no signs of damage. The chrome is in nice condition overall, all the glass is in great shape with no chips or cracks.
