Vehicle Detail
1993 Toyota 4Runner SUV, 4 wheel drive, 3.0 liter V6 engine, automatic transmission. Only 142,046 miles (avg. just 7K / yr). Typically, 4Runners of this age will have 200+K miles, so upwards of another 60K, 80K or even 100K seems achievable, assuming proper care. I have owned it for 3.5 years and love it, during which time I drove a total of just 20K miles. I really do not want to sell it, and am only doing so because my wife just got a car, and since we live in NYC, it just isn't realistic for us to keep two vehicles. The vehicle is in very nice overall condition and runs great. There are a few minor paint blisters, but mechanically, it is tip-top. The previous 2 (of 3) owners were a local mechanic and his mechanic son. They were meticulous about maintenance in every way, stuck to the schedule, changed the timing belt and kept it running tip-top. The engine is very strong and low decible--doesn't roar, shake or give off too much exhaust. At highway speeds, there is no shimmying or rattling -- just a smooth ride. The automatic transmission is also fine. Good AC (I changed the blow motor and added Freon), recently. All the power features work great..The front fender is reinforced by a steel frame "cow catcher" that definitely enhances safety. The rear seats pop forward, allowing the seat backs to fold down totally flat, for a large, back cargo space like that of a small pickup. I have moved a fridge, a large dresser, a big long bench--all kinds of stuff. Other features include roof rack, rear wiper, power sunroof, power windows, power door locks, power mirror adjustment; CD-player/radio, running boards. Good shocks, breaks and exhaust system. Interior is good--no noticable stains or any tears at all to the cloth seat covers. The battery dates from last year only, so that's fine too. The SUV has held up great on drives to upstate NY and Mass., which is about as fas as I've taken it. The thing is a beast off-road, with the 4WD easily handling muddy, dirt trails, bumpy hills, etc.. I know that you can back up--uphill--out of a gravel-and-snow covered driveway, no problem, because I have done so many times.
