Up for sale is my 1924 McLaughlin Buick Hearse. After doing some research, I have found out some additional information. I believe this body to be a 1910 to approximately 1917 rear body and cowl. These rear bodies were built on many different vehicles including Cadillac, Packard, Buick etc. It is in near mint condition as it only requires minor interior and some mechanical front sheet metal work. What is missing is the hood grill shell and front fenders. The rear fenders are with Hearse. Body work is done and is in black primer. Floors are excellent. It has had a Frame off restoration. Chassis was blasted primed and painted 5 coats of black. Coach lights are restored to original. The only items not original is the disc brake setup and 6 cylinder 292 GM motor. This motor looks exactly like what would have been in this vehicle from day one. It’s totally rebuilt. Those two items can be easily changed if one chooses to do so. It came with original coffin with glass window on top. The door glass and side glass are in good condition. The really neat thing about this car is that the cab is round on sides like a French curve and rear of hearse is to. The roof even curves. The body is totally "aluminum" stamped drapes and cab. Cowl is steel. The sides of the body come off and vehicle must have been used as an ambulance or lower cost hearse as well. The inside of hearse has been totally redone in solid cherry. All wood in cab was re-glued and screwed. The doors from behind the front bucket seats open and close. Bucket seats need to be redone but are with the hearse. It is an extremely solid vehicle. This vehicle is not going to go cheap. It is for the guy that wants the best and probably someone that wants a piece of elegant history for his funeral business. The vehicle can be seen if desired and anyone in the position to view it is welcome. I am asking a high dollar because all the hard to do restoration work is complete and is ready for paint. Also, any period correct make of vehicle can go on front such as Packard , Pierce Arrow ,Cadillac etc. I know the purists will not like me to say that. Right Walt, Brady etc......... Lol............ I know I’m in trouble for saying that from my friends in the PCS but if you own it you can do as you wish. You can fly right into London, Ontario which is 15 minutes away. I’ve done a U-tube 12 minute video to help the prospective purchaser. I do have a large price on vehicle but i have owned allot of hearses in my time none with all aluminum body, none with a curved body , none in this condition., and none this old. This car is a 130,000.00 + car when finished and doesnt need much to get there. I saw one at hershey auction not curved or aluminum and not as nice was a no sale at 125,000.00 couple years ago. The vehicle has a Clear Ontario Title. I am in a position to help the purchaser with shipping and border crossings are not a problem. I have shipped various vehicles to and from the States without any issues. I reserve the right to remove the vehicle from auction as I am also offering it for sale locally.
