Vehicle Detail
1963 Volkswagen Dual Treasure chest Single Cab After a short stay on a farm in Missouri, this Single Cab sat out in the Panaca Nv. desert for years before being rescued. It has been totally gone over making sure it’s a safe, dependable driver, yet keep the original sun kissed patina intact. It now resides in Northern Ca. where it is driven on occasion, mostly on weekends or to shows, and is garage kept when not in use. Since the object during this build was to upgrade the drive train and keep the body as original as possible, there has been no paint, body filler, or rust repair done. The rust in the outer rockers is the worst of it. I never planned on repairing it. I think this SC is perfect just the way it is. “What you see is what you get”. The frame and undercarriage are solid and roadworthy. · Nose is straight and free of dents · Front and rear Safari windows · Newly upholstered tweed seats · All new weather striping · Solid floor with one small hole on pass side. (see pic) · 4inch narrowed adjustable beam with dropped spindles · All steering components replaced. · Rear is lowered with notched spring plates and a freshly rebuilt type 1 swing axle trans. · No reduction boxes. Easily does highway speeds · Brake system rebuilt with new drums, wheel cylinders, master cylinders, hard and soft lines. Emergency brakes work like they should · New 1915cc engine with dual weber carbs. Less than 3000 miles on it. · Engine has been set up for full flow oil system, with remote oil filter and an oil cooler with an auxiliary fan. Idles smooth and has plenty of power. · New throttle cable, clutch cable, and e brake cables. · Clean Randar wheels with new 165/50/15’s on front and new 195/50/15’s on rear · Custom pin striping done by Josh “Rudeboy” Mederios out of San Jose. · Rack, horns, fog light, and brake light are included in sale. · Black and yellow license plates and frames ARE NOT INCLUDED. This Single Cab runs and drives good enough to be a daily driver, but I choose to keep it out of commute traffic. Although this would be a great candidate for a full restoration, I think it would be a sin cover up what 49 years have done to it. You cannot reproduce what mother nature has done to it. It is unique, definitely stands out in any crowd, and has tons of character. If you are able, please come see it in person, or ask as many questions as you like. I have many more pics. just send me your email adress.
