Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1973 Pontiac Grand Prix with the following PHS documented factory equipment: 400 cubic inch/4BBL motor, air conditioning, PS, PB, bucket seats, full console, Turbo 400 transmission, AM/FM Stereo, bumper guards, white vinyl top, white pin stripes, dual outside mirrors, Rally II wheels, G78/15 Polyglass white wall tires, and rubber floor mats. The exterior color is Regatta Blue, the interior is white. The factory exhaust has been replaced with a 2 1/2 inch system and low restriction mufflers. Everything else is as it came from the factory with the exception of maintenance items and POA valve for the A/C system. The interior is excellent in every way. It even SMELLS new (ash tray and lighter never used). The white bucket seats and back seat are outstanding, the dash pad has no sun fade and is like new, the carpet shows no wear, the console and shifter looks great, the door panels are flawless, all glass is original and without pitting or cracks, the headliner is spotless, and the original mats don't show any wear. The radio still works on both AM and FM. The air condition system has been gone through and blows cold. All interior lights are working. The clock has quit working recently, and the highest fan speed doesn't engage. The body is straight as an arrow, with even gaps between all sheet metal parts. The gorgous metallic blue paint is an eight year old redo in the original color, and looks very nice. The door jams and trunk are untouched from the factory. The original vinyl roof is as new, with no stains or discoloration. There are a very few small road rash nicks in the paint and one small 1/2 inch piece of pin striping missing from the trunk area that you will have to look hard to spot. All chrome and metal trim are in excellent condition, reflecting the low miles and shelter from the environment. Both bumpers are in beautiful condition. This was the first year that GM began to add plastic bumper filler extensions to comply with new Federal requirements, and the original ones have begun to dry out and crack in the corners (example shown in one of the pics). I mention these things as full disclosure, because there is nothing else to add but positives about the exterior looks of this vehicle. The color combination is absolutely killer, and she draws a crowd everywhere she goes. The trunk area is in outstanding condition, with the original cardboard side inserts still in place. The splatter paint looks great, there is no surface rust showing, and the original Goodyear polyglass tire and jack had never been out of the trunk until I pulled them. The tire still shows factory chalk markings and a blue coating on the whitewall. I did replace the original felt mat with a new one, as it had some staining from some long ago mishap. The frame and underbody has been pressure washed and cleaned. There are absolutely no leaks from either the engine or transmission, the rear end is dry, and the suspension and shocks work as when the car was new. The car drives perfect, with no shakes or rattles. The brakes have no pull when applied. The transmission shifts crisply. The air blows cold. The radio still plays, but reminds me how far we've come in audio the last 40 years! The engine is bone stock, and the bay has been detailed. You may notice an air cleaner decal that I bought to add on in one of the pictures, but couldn't bring myself to actually attach it to the lid since it isn't original to the car. I have gone through all the systems, including A/C service, radiator flush, brake system flush, replaced all hoses and belts with factory duplicates, and complete rebuild of original carb. I also had the stock distributor "recurved" for improved performance when a full tune up was performed. Plug wires are original. The car runs very strong on premium fuel with no knocks or hesitation, and can be driven anywhere. The original polyglass tires are still on the Rally II wheels, as they came from the factory. I know the car would drive a lot better with a change to new radials, but I haven't been able to make myself do it. If you buy this car and plan to drive it home, keep in mind these tires are 39 years old. I have had the car up to highway speeds several times with no problems, and the tires don't leak. I hold a clear Georgia title in my name, and it shows 6600 original miles on the title. I am the second title holder of the car since new. I encourage any third party inspection you may want to engage, and am available most of the time to show the vehicle. I am about an hour South of the Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson airport. I don't have the original window sticker, but will include a copy of the Pontiac Historic Society report showing factory options and various codes for everything on this beautiful car. Also included is the original New Vehicle Warranty Policy with the selling dealer's plate imprint (with salesman's business card, delivery date (6/14/73), and original buyer's info). I also have the Owner's Manual, General Info Manual, Maintenance Schedule, Emission Control System booklet, and a Pontiac brochure showing interior and exterior colors with codes. Sale is restricted to US buyers only, and buyer is responsible for all shipping charges. I am happy to assist with pick up by your shipper. I will not disclose my reserve price. PLEASE do not bid if you can't close the deal. I'm not interested in any trade offers. I require a $500 PayPal deposit within 24 hours of sale, which is non-refundable. Full payment is expected within 7 days, either by check or wire transfer. I will not release the car until full verification of funds clearing my bank has been received. There is no warranty given or implied. I think the winning buyer will be more than pleased with my Grand Prix. Thanks for taking the time to read my ad, and good luck to all.
