Vehicle Detail
1988 VolksWagen Vanagon GL/Westfalia Full Camper: 72,000 miles, 4cyl. Original engine not rebuilt or replaced, 4spd. manual transmission(new with only a 100miles on it w/new clutch..ect.), 2wheeldrive, electric windows, electric locks, electric mirrors, rear window defroster, cruise control, ALL Electric power accessories work perfectly as they should, power steering, power breaks, air conditioning(not presently working), rear and front heaters with new heater cores, Pioneer CD player with MP3 player compatibility, Brand new tires including spare, Brand new paint job with some imperfections, new windshield, new breaks with less than 100miles on them. Runs perfectly, idles at 1000rpm LOTS of fun to drive!! New tune up…. NEW: plugs/wires, oil&filter, fuel filter, oxygen sensor, catalytic converter, new exhaust pipes 3000 miles ago, thermostat&housing (was not necessary but just due to age I replaced them anyway), belts, coil, rotor cap, new fuel injectors, Gas tank has been resealed with new fuel lines and pump. LP tank has been reconditioned and ready to use. Sink has new drain bowl and hose, new battery, new seal on fiber glass camper top above the windshield, new skylight and seal, has new floor mats. I originally bought this camper to use for housing while I was on six week contracts with the hospitals, so that I could pocket the housing money. I was only able to use the camper for one contract before the market Crashed and I had to take a permanent position at a clinic. Since I have relocated in a VERY WINDY AND MOUNTANOUS State I am not able to utilize the camper for recreation as much as I would like so I have decided to sell it. The sink and stove work fine. Electric switch for gas to battery (for refrig)works. The Camper has all original curtains in excellent shape, original pop up canvas is in good to fair condition and has been repaired in a couple of places, see photos. There are no tears or issues and is ready for use. Refrig is in excellent condition. All cabinets and moldings are in very good condition. Electric space heater is included for fall to winter camping. The bumpers are in very good condition and the fiber glass topper with new skylight is in near perfect condition including body seal. The Vehicle and the Camping accessories have been very well maintained while in my possession. If there was even the possibility of problems I either replaced it or paid someone to fix it. Extremely clean inside and out. I believe if you take care of something then it will take care of you. I never had the A/C fixed from the original owner due to high altitude/dry climate… there was no need to so I never had it fixed, but I was told that everything was intact by as service techn. and should not be a big ordeal to take care of. Issues that I know of that are NOT a problem, more of preference, Shocks and struts are original and are working fine, but if I were to keep it I would have them replaced due to High wind issues here in Wyoming. The breaks are brand new but the techn. said that the rear drums would have to be replaced on the next break Job… there has only been about 100miles on the breaks since I have had them serviced. When the van was repainted about 100miles ago the shop in Fl. did not do as good of job as they could have on the slider door and in negative 20deg below zero weather, the body filler has small cracks in the paint in one section for the door (See photos). The only thing that is not new on the exhaust system is the muffler and the tail pipe which again doesn’t need to be replaced right away but if I were to keep it I would eventually replace. I hope that I have covered everything and if you have questions please ask and I will answer them. I have too many pictures to list please email me with a valid email and I will send you more if you like if you have anything that you would like to see in particular please let me know and I will try to get those for you as well. Also Buyer is responsible for pickup unless otherwise discussed with me personally, Local or near by states are subject to discussion for delivery. Please email me if you have questions about what states. The Camper is also listed on other web and local media and is subject to be sold before the ending of this listing unless the Buy it now option is used before it is sold while the auction is underway. If it is listed it is still available. This is not a joke So PLEASE DON'T BID IF YOU AREN'T GOING TO BUY IT!!On Aug-31-12 at 15:56:22 PDT, seller added the following information: Update on the "BUY IT NOW" option: I contacted ebay about it and they said that because I didn't put on a JackAss reserve price on it that the buy it now option was taken away as soon as bidding started on it so if I wanted a buy it now I would have to remove the listing... which I have to pay for and then relist it with a reserve... Which having a reserve screws up bidding that is the whole reason why I didn't put a reserve on the auction. if I would have known I would not have paid the extra two dollars for the buy it now when it is not even there 24hours. Sorry for the issue On Sep-01-12 at 07:06:49 PDT, seller added the following information: Hey everyone I will be out of town for the weekend and I didn't get a chance to put the pictures into email last night so I will have to do it when I get back into town. Thank you very much for looking, your interest, and most of all the bidding I hope you guys have a good labor day weekend and I will take care of all the questions as soon as I get back. Thanks again and God Bless On Sep-02-12 at 09:20:25 PDT, seller added the following information: I just had a few good questions, I live in Casper Wy and anyone interested in the Van is more than welcome to come see it, I am a TOTAL CLEAN FREAK when it comes to this van, I am also a perfectionist by nature so anyone would be pleased with the condition of the van. NO SMOKE OR PETS have been allowed or even near this van. On Sep-04-12 at 17:21:41 PDT, seller added the following information: It has been in two accidents one of them was before I owned it the previous owner swiped the slider and the rear fender with something and both were repaired. While I have owned it, I was out at pathfinder reservoir on an icy dirt road during winter and slid in to a ditch the front fiberglass bumper, spair tire carrier, driver side lower control, arm and torsion bar were replaced. No body damage other than what was replaced on the under side. I forgot to mention in the ad I had paid for the rear hatch electric lock opener to be replaced and the person who did the work didn't do a very good job of putting the panel back on the hatch, if I were to keep it I would eventually replace the rear panel. I will send you pics of it. there is no rust in the seams or body panels only tiny little chips in the paint from road pebbles, again will send pics to who ever wants to see, the underside is undercoated and and does not seem to have any major rust, just surface rust where it is exposed pics can be sent. Please send me an email address that I can send pic. to and I will send you everything that I feel I would want to know before I myself would fly up here. I have put approx. 3000miles on the van since I have owned it, I haven't had to do to many mechn. things to the van since I have owned it other than the tranny and I do have those reciepts. The prior owner had the head gaskets and the exhaust pipes replace just before I bought it from him and I do believe I have those as well. On Sep-05-12 at 16:40:40 PDT, seller added the following information: A few more things, I have had a few questions about the mechn. condition of the van, I would have no problems with driving the van to Florida and Back tomorrow without question. If I were to take it back to Florida or any southern high humidity I personally would have the airconditioning fixed just for comfort. As far as the buy it now price I am no longer giving that information out because the people who have asked are no longer bidding so to prevent any further loss of bidding I am no longer answering that question. There have been so many emails about the pictures of possible concern that I will be listing those on ebay tonight and then emailing everyone about the pictures being posted on ebay because I have about 27 people who are asking for pictures and most peoples email will only allow me to send two pictures at a time so you can imagine for yourself the job that would be. Also when I had the camper towed into the shop for the repairs on the under carriage the towing agency backed into the van and the corner of the fiber glass bumper had to be replaced and a dent had to be taken out of the tailgate, you can't even tell that there was a dent in the tailgate hatch. Thank you very much for your interest in the van and Good luck with the bidding. On Sep-05-12 at 18:23:57 PDT, seller added the following information: Ok, a couple more things to update, I am currently on photo bucket and I am downloading approx. 75-100 photos of the van from the great to the least, and everywhere in between but it is taking forever to download so as soon as it is done I will be posting the web link for it and then email everyone that has been asking for pictures. Also the lower control are and the torsion bar didn't need to be replaced because of the accident out at pathfinder. They were replaced because when the body shop had dropped the suspension to fix the cross member for the spare tire carrier and the service tech. that put it back together stripped the threads in the lower control arm and torsion bar when he was putting them together. Thanks for everyone's patience with the pictures and they should be posted in about 30 to 45mins. On Sep-05-12 at 19:36:45 PDT, seller added the following information: There are now 164 pictures listed for your viewing on the following link http://s1149.beta.photobucket.com/user/graysonstill/library/ Please let me know if you have any questions I believe I have covered everything single detail that I can think of so just let me know if you have questions about the pictures Thanks again and good luck bidding
