Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 1965 Oldsmobile 442 with a 425 ci engine which has been completely rebuilt and 4 speed transmission with original limited slip rear end which has been rebuilt. The 442 has original chrome Hurst shifter and transmission. The 442 is a texas car and all panels including floor pans are original to the car. All panels line up as they did from the factory, and no sign that the car has ever been wrecked was found during restoration. The restoration was just completed this year after a ten year restoration process. A lot of time and detail was put into this project to make sure that the car was as similar to the day it rolled off the assembly line as possible. The 442 was a frame off restoration. All metal was metal blasted, then metal treated, then epoxied before it was painted with a base coat clear coat to the factory color. All interior paint was treated the same way and painted to factory colors. All interior is new and was made by legendary auto interiors. The cutlass has a/c, power disc brakes, power steering which all works great. Disc brakes were added for performance, but factory drum brakes go with the car if wanted. Any chrome that could not be polished to show quality was sent to a chrome shop and restored to show quality finish. The items I had chromed include the bumpers, the rear tail light panel chrome, a/c vents, parking light and back up light housings. The dash of the car is uncut, it currently has an AM/FM/8 track radio but I do have the original radio which is included. The 442 is currently tagged in Texas and would easily pass a safety inspection. The 442 runs and drives flawlessly, shifts perfect and has no issues. Everything on the car works in great shape and the car has no issues. The factory dash clock has been cleaned and rebuilt but it does gain about 30 minutes in time every month. The 442 was a frame off restoration and had all body bushings, springs front and rear, and shocks were replaced. The 442 had all factory dual exhaust replaced using restored factory exhaust hangers. Factory mufflers were replaced with flowmasters to give the car a nicer sound. The carburetor was updated with a modern carburetor with an electric choke, but the original carburetor will go with the car.
