Vehicle Detail
1964 Buick Wildcat Convertible. This car was restored in the late 70's with engine rebuild in the early 80's and again in 2002. Although the original 425 block was not able to be saved (due to defect), many internal parts were saved. Engine was balanced & all work was meticulously done. It was professionally painted in 1985. It has been stored inside since the 1970's and for the most part never driven in the rain. It has 132505 original miles. The interior is all original. There are no rips in the vinyl. Everything works in this car and it drives as smooth as it should. The car features neat items (some rare) like: complete dual 4 barrel setup, (added at the rebuild) GuideMatic auto headlight dimmer, Buick dash mounted tach. power antenna, 4 way power seats, power brakes, OEM style dual exhaust, clock, quad horns, (harmonious sound). AM/ FM radio with reverb unit for rear speaker. The original tonneau cover is included. Also noteworthy is the left quarter panel features a forward facing wildcat emblem. This car will idle around town smoothly & lay rubber if you step on it. It is a joy to drive & turns heads wherever it goes. Back seat accommodates three adult passengers, two lovers, or one Indiana governor. ( former Indiana governor Otis Bowen rode in this car for a parade in the 70's) The car is in excellent driving condition & gets respectable mileage if you keep your foot off the gas. There are extra OEM & NOS parts & dealer promotional items that can go with this car. Some of the extra parts are: carbs & carb kits, dash items\gauge cluster, extra front grill pieces, 401 engine parts, automatic trans, dealer repair manuals. There are several other boxes to look through. Buyer can negotiate for what they want. The few negatives about this car are as follows: dent in front left corner of bumper, non original engine block (401 instead of 425), rocker panel rust issues on drivers side that have been repaired with a patch. Rear plastic window has yellowed with age, a few hard to spot paint chips, A few non original items, such as dual master cylinder, 140mph speedo (from a Riviera). Owner wants to be clear that although it has been restored nicely, It was not done by a professional shop. Original restorer was a partial quadriplegic who devoted much attention to doing things correctly. There are more pictures that I can send if you desire. Please feel free to email me with questions. The car is available for inspection in Goshen, Indiana by appointment.
