Vehicle Detail

If you're looking for a turn key Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite then this one should receive your consideration. I received this car as partial trade for a motorhome/toterhome that I sold. This car had a nut and bolt restoration in the early 2000s. I have pictures of the bare body disassembled prior to restoration. This car was taken completely apart and rebuilt from the ground up by a known amateur restorer in Colorado. Let's take a closer look... Cosmetics/Body...First let me say that this car looks absolutely great. It was painted approx. 10 years ago and has an amazing shine. There are, of course, some chips and natural wear and tear in the paint. As I said earlier, this car was taken completely apart for its restoration. Looking under the hood or in the inner fender wells or in the trunk area shows that no stone was left unturned when this car was painted. The level of workmanship was good but not concourse. If you're into showing your car then it would do fine at the local level. Metal was welded in where required. A magnet test along areas known to rust on older cars shows almost no heavy body filler except for a couple of postage stamp sized areas along the lower side rockers/fenders. The welds along the floorpans are a little raw by show car standards and a metal patch was used on the driver side inner rocker. Some paint chips show primer underneath where perhaps the paint didn't stick to the body perfectly. I say this so those who can't inspect the car in person know exactly what to expect. This car is in excellent condition-just not so perfect that you are afraid to take it out for a drive and enjoy it. Please look closely at my picture link for undercarriage and inner fender pictures. New side curtains are included and in excellent condition. The top is in ok condition and shows some minor wear and repair. The seats were redone when the car was restored and are in great shape. Even the wheels were painted when the car was apart. Overall this car is in excellent cosmetic condition. Mechanical condition...This car runs and drives great. The mechanicals (engine, carbs, etc) were rebuilt when the car was restored. Nothing was left untouched. Look at the new vintage styled cloth covered wiring-no Lucas prince of darkness here! Rally badges on the dash attest to its reliability. When I got the car it hadn't been used much in the last year. The carbs had been run dry and the gas tank was clean. Very little work was needed to get it back on the road. I've driven it a fair bit and it's a blast to drive! If you're looking for a Bugeye to get in and enjoy then this would be a great choice.
